Thanks for this
Third party programs are not within Technical Support nor Customer Support’s remit.
The only people who might be able to help her, would be the developers, so General Discussion is the correct forum, as the community managers are the only oness (to my understanding), that can feed back to the developers. Not Technical Support nor Customer Support.
Ideally, she would make a suggestion ticket or bug report ticket from within the game itself, which would get fed back directly to the developers. Tho I can see how someone with limited visual ability would find that difficult.
She could also reach out to the authors of her text-to-speech program, in case it is something they can tweak on their end.
I managed to write both of these in game. Typing is easy and those elements of UI can be made quite large with “Moveanything”.
Sadly, as i searched for info abpout the issue, it seems that encrypting the chat channels made the addon not possible to monitor those channels anymore and quests texts and such apparently also somehow got encrypted. But there is litle info so i dont know, but it seems like the ball is in Blizzards side.
Thanks for the suggestions
I am just speculating here, but,
It is probably because Blizzard are very very strongly against any third party software having access to in-game events/details/etc. Reasoning that access to that kind of stuff, makes it easier for people to create bots.
Also be aware that your original thread was in Technical Support, and it got moved from there to General Discussions. Technically speaking, re-creating a moved thread or linking to it back from where it was moved from, is a bit of a no-no. I am not sure if it is against the forum rules, but it is certainly frowned upon.
She didn’t i remade the thread so please remove the high and mighty attitude.
I am aware of that, but you did. That comment was directed at you, the OP.
Well unless your an mvp or blue poster you have no right to talk down to me trying to help another player .
Anyways to been noticed no need to get an attitude with me .
They are public forums. If you don’t like it, or don’t want people pointing out that you are breaking the rules, don’t post.
Your making a moutain out of a molehill all you have done is speak down to people ie flame baiting which is reportable.
No idea why you bought in CS wasn’t even posted there but ty for taking the thread off topic .
No need to argue
Hey all!
Please all take a step back, and realise that the intention of this thread was to raise awareness on an issue that is super important to some of our players, and whilst it’s true that this isn’t within the scope of Customer Support to address, raising visibility in itself isn’t always a bad thing.
In terms of moving forward with this, we have a philosophy that Every Voice Matters at Blizzard, and we want to make sure our epic entertainment experiences are truly epic for ALL our players. If an accessibility issue has become a barrier to play our games, we have a dedicated team that would like to hear from you.
To file a detailed report, including videos and screenshots:
Due to the volume of reports, you may not receive a response from our team; however, we take all reports very seriously. Thank you for your dedication to helping Blizzard bring the world together through epic entertainment!
Thank you for response and information. I shall make an email about the matter and send it to the accessibility team. It is good to know that one such exists. Not all care about such things and it is nice to see even we minorities matter
Concerning screenshots and videos. As i have none stored, is it okay to instead, include a link to the addon/software page which contains comprehensive description about options and functions of the TTS system it provides? The site also has a video where the TTS is seen on action.
Just thinking that it would be helpful to see the former system that was working before. It was really great thing and could be helpfl reference to accessibility team.
You’re welcome Lilian, and best wishes!
