Please turn off the arena announcers

If I have to listen once more to Daniel Poole yelling that they died but not as a true Kul’tiran I’m gonna explode.

That is all.

They repeat themselves ad infinitum and they’re incredibly annoying; and the only way to get rid of them is to turn ALL voices off.

If only there was an option to turn off dialog

He said that. It does however gets tiresome to have to turn it on and off all the time. In pve it’s handy to hear boss dialogue.
Bwonsamdi death trolling and arena announcers however are pointless.

I admit it does get annoying especially when you keep getting into hook point

I don’t want to turn off dialogue, including error sounds. I just wanna turn that particular guy off.

At least give him variety. He says the exact same thing every time and it’s driving me nuts!

No No No . . . Good save

I turned them off, they are distracting and annoying.

How?! I need to know!

If it’s just disabling all dialogue again though… njeh. :expressionless: But do let me know!

Disable all dialogues.

*cries silently*

Give this a go, maybe?

Nice try, but no… :frowning:

It cannot remove the audio related to the speech though since that is not doable within WoW API.

It seems like it’s just plain not possible. Blizzard, pleeeease D: I’d rather listen to nails against a chalkboard than listen to those NPC’s all the day long.

can I have the ability to turn off all the queue pop sounds and other annoying stuff while keeping the ability sounds on plz

I wouldn’t be against it, but that one actually has a purpose, which is to tell you when the queue pops in case you’ve alt-tabbed.

These NPC’s, on the other hand, serve absolutely no purpose whatsoever. Within the first 5 arena matches in that arena ever, they might increase the immersion slightly, but once you realise they always say the same thing, they just become an annoying distraction, and they stay that way. They say nothing you couldn’t glean by yourself from the in-game UI.

OMG, yes! This so much!!!

How did Blizz not see how obnouxious it would become in long term? I mean, yes it’s cute and funny the first couple of times, but damn, for someone who plays arenas a lot, it gets to the point of being tilting! I tab out of the game until the countdown is about to reach 0 everytime. Seriously

But what if you alt+tab while waiting for the queue and rely on the sound to tell you the queue popped? Then you need sounds in background!

Oh yeah… now we’re in a real bind, aren’t we?

Maybe it’s possible to write an addon that turns off NPC speech during the arena prep-time, and then turns it on again. At least that’d get us halfway there.

I must begin some research!

What about this? Doesn’t work either?

Today! Your cries of battle, and the clash of your weapon, will be heard by the great loa!

You need to know the folder structure of Blizzard’s files, and it was built for Blizzard’s MPQ system, which they don’t use anymore. Not sure if that makes a difference though. My primary problem with it is the first part - I need to know exactly where all of these audio files are in Blizzard’s data package.
