Pls kill off Thrall in the next expansion

I miss the days, when thrall was "The Warchief " of the horde.
A real charismatic leader that had horde and alliance in him, like one would say, a horde in heart and an alliance in brain.

But lately, blizzard has gutted his progression to favour other characters that are never going to be an equal match to him, just like Malfurion Stormrage.

At this point, Thrall is just there for the fan base and jaina.

So, please kill him off in a legendary style like Saurfang in the next expansion.

Edit:
So, that he will be remembered as the great warchief of the horde.

Think that falls under ‘Well-known story heroes were diminished’

When Tyrande killed Nathanos people complained she stole their kill. It’s hard not to diminish lore characters when the player is expected to do everything.

I am so sad he was never reunited with Sylvanas, they really did ruin her character.

I assume that you haven’t played Warcraft 3, yet?!
If not, then please do. You will know why thrall was the Warchief that we loved.

My whole point is that the transition from RTS to MMORPG is problematic for the storytelling. If the players are the ones to get stuff done then established characters are diminished while letting lore characters do the work diminishes the players’ role in the story.

It’s better i don’t say anything as my critique got me banned for a month. The Lore of the game. Well it needs respect, that’s all.

I never liked him anyways.
“Get More Azerite for the Dark Lady, Chris!” “You will never Make the Dark Lady proud, Chris!” “Don’t touch The Dark Lady’s shoes, Chris!”

I felt like Stewie when Tyrande sliced off his head. “THAAANKK YOUUUU!”

I liked him, it was fun to have someone not full of ‘champion’ you are amazing do this menial task for me.

He had his moments, but in the end, he still was making us do the menial task of getting more Azerite For the Dark Lady, not even For the Horde. (Oh yah. And then there was also that “prank” he did for Sylvannas, where he tried to get me along with other Horde and Alliance champions to drown/die in Nazjatar.)

I don’t think killing characters willy nilly has the effect you seem to think.
How do you feel about Vol’jin? He was a great character… and now? Completely ruined.
Was it worth killing him? He could’ve added so much more to the story being alive and interacting with the Zandalari. He could’ve been a mentor figure to Talanji.

Tyrion was killed off by a schmuck after stopping the Lich King. Do you think this helped his legacy? Had he stayed alive it would’ve been interesting to have seen his reaction to the return of Turalyon and Tyr.

Killing off characters accomplishes little and is overused so much in mmo’s that players simply stop caring.

I don’t agree with killing Thrall. He has a dad arc coming with Anduin and his own son. How cool would it be if he found a way to save Outland/Draenor before dying a wise oldman as orc warchief in outland?

No, let’s just kill him off.:unamused:

The story needs to be better and killing off characters should be a very rare occurrence or it loses it’s impact.

FFXIV had an amazing arc from ARR to Endwalker. Everyone knows the rare time characters were killed off. They were heavy, they were memorable and they left an impact on the main characters and are referenced later in the story on sorrowful remembrance.

But well… i guess WoW never was the game for storytelling. Derp kill them all. Nobody cares anyways. :person_shrugging:

A lot of people here (about a dozen so) told me to not take the game seriously, so yeah.

Only myself cant belive blizzard killed Vol’jin for no reason.
Once he became Warchief on MoP end. I’m enjoyed and he is my fave troll.
But after WoD dont much hear about him… Next Legion murder him early

It’s big joke and I’m pissed off. Blizzard dont make much story about him as he was Warchief.
I wanted hear Vol’jin more story.

Legion was nearly a decade ago. Normal people get over real life deaths faster than that.

In regards to story, everyone expecting good storytelling from WoW is expecting too much. Metzen isn’t the saviour many thinks he is. Just look at Thrall and Varian.

If there was a moment to kill him it was with Garrosh. the story would also been better if garrosh would still be around in the Horde

Ah yes malfurion. The most important druid and protector of the dream. And a leader of the night elves. Arguable the most important person if you were doing a patch around the emerald dreams and a new night elf home. I can’t imagine blizz would ever do a patch like that and not have him front and center. As it is clearly the story his character is most appropriate fore. Nope I can’t imagine they would leave him out by putting him in that shadowlands for the whole story them have him come back at the end like sup bro. Surely they wouldn’t do a dirty on a character the favour like that.

The only person more forgotten about than malfurion is shadriss

Sylvanas is complex type of character thats not just good and evil, I like her. I think its one of the well writen characters in wow like thrall or gul’dan or lich king

I agree, killing off/removing characters is awful.

Wow has been through a whole spate of Game of Thones get rid of the main characters. It’s not good.
