Plunderstorm is awesome, but

The couple new abilities that were added are great but …

Can we get a different map next time around? If you plan to keep re-using the event, it would be a worthwhile investment.

Also, I would like to see something akin to Plunderstorm in the actual game within wow’s standard gameplay.

Something like an Epic Battleground where instead of:

  • 80 people fighting as 2 teams of 40, there are
  • 78 players fighting as 26 teams of 3 (2 DPS, 1 Healer)

The last team standing wins.
If you die, you don’t ressurect, you are out of the match and have to queue again.
There could still be objectives we know from other BGs that could give you some sort of advantage …

But this is just a 5-minute idea, it could be a lot more refined if it were given more time.

Sounds like an interesting premise, would it still be called the plunderstorm or would you give it a different aesthetic/theme and name

plunderstorm s3 need

New them, new map, new mob, new spell
-rating ladder
-transmog

No rating ladder please, i would really like no rank in this goofy game mode

why ? if you don’t like it don’t do it

Because it creates more toxicity and the game has enough of that already.
Competition breeds toxicity because humans, when it gets down to it, are tribalists by nature.

And…

Becomes hard when the reward is something you want.

A new map would be great, I still think arathi highlands is a weird choice for a pirate themed mode, why not something more tropical like an Island?

I agree.
That would also be the best way to incorporate it into the actual game: Make it an island. Make it nice and pirate themed.

a difficult reward gains value, looked at glad mounts or elite sets, r1 titles (pve/pvp) …

btw the rewards are really not great, they are just very lazy recolors

Not in my view.
It creates irritation and disappointment.

Might as well not exist for me. I don’t even look at them, because why would I?

As long as they do it like they do now, where you can earn all the rewards just from ‘grinding’ it, then I’m good.
But as soon as they would start linking rewards to ‘rankings’ that’s when I start screaming foul.

Cause if rating exists it will cahnge the casual scene

This is proven by casual games like WoW becoming much more min maxed because there is incentive, remove the incentive and it will stay just for fun.

You mean so much value, that when SS came out majority of the player base jumped ship?

premade arena in glad range is the same handful of teams quing into each other… It only creates “value” for people thinking people that see them with the mount thinks they are awesome

If you ask any high end PVP player, I would bet almost anything that they would trade having glad mounts for having a balanced and fun game mode any day of the week

a ranked system makes the content infinite, because it makes you want to play, even if there are no rewards (loot/hf etc), but the rewards also make you want to invest. Same for the new features

And there’s so many sets in the game that I personally wouldn’t even recognize such a set. Not to mention the fact that I couldn’t care less what someone else wears on their character: I care about what MY character wears and that I like it.

players didn’t get what they wanted. they asked for a solo q (for 3s/2s/rbg) and they got blitz and solo shuffle

and that’s wrong, mounts, when they’re pretty, people participate

Actually it doesn’t.
It makes it seasonal.

And many people don’t like seasonal.

So it actually does the opposite. If it’s fun and available; people will play it. THAT is ‘infinite’.

What is considered ‘pretty’ is subjective.

And I can only speak for myself, but no matter what mount they put in ranked PvP, I’m not going to participate. Period.

I’m not going to go through what amounts to ‘torture’ for me just for a mount.
Something I dislike; maybe. But not something that makes me hate the world and everyone in it (which is what PvP does to me - especially when you’re trying to attain a ‘rank’ for a reward).

rank systems are incentives not content, balancing is content, ranks are not.

Balancing changes the game fundementally and allows for a new experience. Therefor content.

Big difference.

But why aren’t people participating then?.. People have literally gone from 3v3 and 2v2 to Solo Shuffle and Blitz…

Why is the so called “pretty mounts” not dragging people in?

Competition increases stakes which makes people want to succeed more which makes them more irritable when things go wrong.

But if Plunderstorm got a rating system, I’d say there would also be an unranked casual mode as it is with every other PvP mode.

Why not? Ranked Fortnite and PUBG are a thing. BR is a regular e-sport.

If there was a ranked mode I would play A LOT more.
