Whatever you get the point, If i wanted to i could have 5 +16 agility gems in Wrath it wasnt exclusive to anyone, anyone could have 5 or 6 or 10 main stat gems if they pleased
Thats what i said above, so instead of having random chance, to get a socket, we had specific pieces with specific colored gemslots so you could SPECIFICALLY customise your toon to your liking
There was nothing wrong with this.
Your chest piece only has 1 Yellow socket? Well, go into ICC and you can claim a 3 red socket chest.
Way simpler and straight forward
Which is a bit of a double standard because the level of customisation is bigger now thanks to M+ providing almost every stat combination available in pretty much all slots.
Under the previous system, sure, you could somewhat control your gems (although not as much as you argue), but your stats were still fairly locked between the 1-3 pieces you had available for each slot and what stats the devs decided to have on them.
A very common example of that would be shadow tier pieces having spirit quite often, which was absolutely useless to the specc.
Yy. My Strength is 5700, my haste is 1000 so 1 x haste increase is worth much more than 1 x Strength increase. Perhaps the limit is there to stop players spending a fortune on Primary stat gems without realising it doesn’t make a big difference. Kraken’s Eye for strength only increases my strength by 0.66% but Quick Owlseye increases my raw haste stat by 4%.
