This was followed up by an update to our support page on Multiboxing as we could see there was some confusion over that. https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/24258
You and other players can own, access and play on multiple WoW accounts at the same time, that is allowed within our Terms of Use if done manually.
However the announced changes are that using âinput broadcasting softwareâ to do that is now against our Terms of Use and can lead to actions on accounts.
If you are playing on your multiple WoW accounts at the same time manually without using âinput broadcasting softwareâ to do that then your gameplay is allowed within the Terms of Use.
Should others report you for your play on multiple accounts we will review those reports and if you are doing that without âinput broadcasting softwareâ your accounts should be fine as such play is allowed.
You can get back to playing now and being awesome ingame as usual

Since there are more and more farmers who MB⊠i guess that is 100% the right decision.
5 accs gone from me as well, 5subs, 5expansion, all paid in cash because I was casually enjoying the game playing this way. I was multiboxing 5man for a challenge and to enjoy more content. Elites, dungeons, old raids, crafting for myself. I played solo self found, and enjoyed my transmog unlocks. I find it hard to believe that you guys can trust and give money to a company that makes such abrupt and bad changes.
I takes like 2seconds to come up with a better ruleset than this, if the end goal is what they say. For example limit multiboxing to 5char or just ban it all together. Iâm leaving because I feel betrayed and cba to setup a hardware or vm method. They will still get people harassing and reporting legitimate multiboxers after this change. I guess they have some people that are not worth their salaries calling the shots. Have fun grinding the maw and similar time gated unchallenging content, which is a poor excuse for little content, and raiding during Christmas. Both examples of decision-making on a similar quality level such as this. Big warning flag. I mean with the covenants, why am I even surprised. Even the support tickets for refunds donât work right now.

Many people where i am one of are very glad that Blizzard finally takes action against something that spun way out of control!
Makes it a lot easier to report the players who violate these rules as well!
Now about these âboosting communitiesâ and the spamming in chat channels and their pollution of the dungeon finder with their advertisements, i sincerely hope there will be done something about this too.

The fun part is how you have been able to report for these things a LOOONG time, but no one even tested it I guess. Its just more out in the open now becose some streamers and players shined light on it. I have reported for language, spam and cheating for years I believe. Problem is everyone always believe reporting is not doing anything. Same problem in League of Legends, but Iâm so satisfied every time I get the alert for action taken against someone I reported when they spammed in chat its ok, nothing happens anyways.
Well, not the LFG system thing tho, thatâs pretty new.

When people actually think this changes anything at all about bots. Botting has been against rules since start of game 15 years ago. Nothing will change. Absolutely nothing - regarding nodes and ores and herbs.

Why not do it properly and just not let anyone run multiple clients at all?
Boo hoo? If this wouldnât affect the players playing the game then nobody would care.
But it does affect and yes we are glad that Blizz is taking steps to resolve the issue.

Since most people seem to be celebrating, i just want to help Blizzard and others to understand why is this a one step forward and 2 back.
As this change mostly effects standstill hyperspawn farming raw gold (the biggest income for multiboxers), most multiboxers will start gathering even more herbs via multi seater mounts, especially hivemind because it is way easier without broadcasting.
Easily doable without any 3rd party software, done it for months before to build capital and guess what, it was worth it because i managed to build up to 8 accounts without spending a single $.
Here is a simple way how:
2 hivemind mounts (4 druids in each)
an extra 5$ keyboard for an extra /follow macro for your 2nd hivemind group (not broadcasting through multiple clients, aka not againts ToS)
A good window layout
âŠand about 5-10 seconds longer to gather said herbs.
This is coming from experience and it is EASILY doable so keep yourself the ânaaahhhh thats too hardâ part
So yeah, most people are celebrating now but fact is, after players and Blizzard sees this, they will have to change the gathering system itself they implemented into the game.
Personally i got too lazy with standstill farming over the last year and i managed to farm more than 150M gold to save up most of it to finally quit multiboxing and play the game in the normal way more again. Got myself refunded over +330$, (7 shadowlands out of 8), gonna use my gold to learn some markets on the AH and continue my gold making addiction and refunded money to play the game for years to come.
Celebrate now, cry later when all new zones will be filled with hivemind mounts.

Except it does change, if they were using any input broadcasting software⊠well guess what. They canât anymore without getting banned.
How many multiboxers mined herbs using such software? Like about all of them.
How many will now have to manually click or risk having action taken against their accounts? All of them.
And itâs still more work than going with the software to replicate key strokes.
So i hope all the multiboxers have fun clicking 10 times more and get a new setup.
It is, but the work u think is a huge change is extremely minimal. Done it for months and months
How many herbs on the AH are there because of the multiboxers? Right, maybe 1%. If even that. Markets are flooded by bots.
