Poll post about what you play in the TBC section

Hello

There is a post in the TBC section of the forums saying that people are only playing Classic and are only subbing to play that.

I think it might be a good idea if some people from here went there and posted their opinion too. Whether you only play Classic, Retail or Both, it would be nice to get a true reading of the playing population.

Why does it matter?

If people want to play Classic then they play Classic! What’s the point of this thread?

The idea of this poll is to see, who play either Classic only or Classic AND Retail, so please do not answer this poll if you play Retail only.

For a fair and even poll.

Why, afraid of the results that might actually say the truth?

But what does it matter who plays what?

As state, interested in how many play Classic only as opposed to those playing Classic AND Retail. Retail only players are not relevant for this.
If they were, I would have posted here

The OP of that post is sure a lot more people play classic than in reality, using optimistic numbers. I just wanted to poll to be fair and even. Showing people who play either or both, in fairness to all, not just those in the TBC forum, who, to be honest, are a little biased.

I think a lot of people who play both never visit the TBC forums.

My answe to

Yes ofc, but what that has to do with anyone is beyond me! What is the poll trying to prove? Or is it another ‘duh retail bad classic good’ bashing?

So people who only play retail shouldn’t be able to say that too? Maybe they consider Classic a waste of money? They deserve to be able to share their views too.

That is kind of my point.

Thats why im asking what the point is, there can never be an accurate poll when all the options aren’t available.

Please, what is a Strawpoll?

Not trying to prove anything - I’m just curious, as I see lots of people argumenting for changes to Classic withthings happning in Retail.
Maybe my wording was clumsy. I should have asked: Do you play Classic only or Classic AND Retail. As I also said, people ONLY playing Retail do not interest me.

Strawpoll site hasn’t worked for months. There are other free poll services out there.

oh thanks, but I just think I give up, too many “trolls” on the line now.

I do agree it’s going to be grossly biased towards Classic asking if Classic players are there for Classic.

This is a misconception. Some Classic players wish to see Classic things in Retail. Personally I can’t imagine anything worse. People are all different but there is certainly no concensus.

While it’s great there is the time capsule version of games for players to enjoy I don’t think Classic belongs in Retail any more than we’d expect Retail features to be in Classic.

Being shown you are incorrect does not make others ‘Trolls’!

All you had to do was add the 3rd option, but you seem to be unwilling to accept that the results won’t be what you want them to be!

Wise move.

I agree Classic belongs to Classic, Retail to Retail - Iøm not trying to argument for or against anything here.
What made me curious is that when we’re discussing for instance RDF or not, people argument by pulling up mythic+ shared powers(?), covenants etc. - all things from Retail as if they were common knowledge. This made me ask myself - and try to ask the community - how many play Classic only, and how many play both? Or put another way, of 100 players playing Classic, how many also play Retail? For this reason also the numbers of ppl playing Retail only is not relevant.

The question I ask myself is: From 100 Classic players, how many also play Retail?
People playing only Retail is irrelevant to this question.
I don’t want the result to be anything but a number between 0 and 99 (this last 1 person being me, not playing Retail  )

I do think World of Warcraft would lose subscribers if they removed Classic suddenly (in a moment of madness). I do think there is a proportion of the playerbase that are here purely for that old skool experience.

This has not been Blizzard’s best expansion, for me it’s also not been their worst but that’s not something to shout about.

I think there are a lot of players who dabble, there are others who do it as their main version of WoW. Each time there is a launch there is a load of tourism (this is true in Retail as well). I actually fall into this category for Classic. It’s a great trip down memory lane but I struggle with the lack of modern conveniences, the gameplay etc in old skool WoW and usually realise how many things I take for granted in Retail.

There are pros and cons to both types of game. It’s just a case of whatever floats your boat. There is a tendency by players in both games who have a preference to feel the need to say the other is bad. Both Classic and Retail forums suffer with what I call ‘my Dad is better than your Dad’ syndrome.

To me, it’s all WoW, play the version or versions you enjoy.
