I have a Nvidia 1030 GT, I struggle to keep the game running smoothly in any new content, even at everything set to low.
It feels weird that a game increasingly designed for Angry Birds soccer moms would need anything stronger than a 1030.
Any advice to increase performance, or would it be better to just wait for Classic?
Buy a faster card meant for gaming if you want to play games besides Angry Birds for soccer moms.

There are many things that can affect your game performance, from game settings and addons in use to other programs and applications active in the background. On GT 1030 you won’t get that much FPS. Upgrade is inevitable. Classic has lower requirements, run 60-80 FPS easily on R3 2200G which has similar GPU performance - and that’s at 3440x1440 mode 4.
As for the card at mode 3 1080p resolution you should have 20-40 FPS in the retail version, check my benchmark:

What’s your CPU and RAM? Can you run a userbenchmark to get an overview how each component performs?

Throw your joker PC out yer window and get a proper gaming PC with at least 1050ti or something. Stop complaining about not getting any fps with a graphics card that was designed to run Microsoft Power Point only.
