Hello, I wanted to voice out my frustration. The game in valdrakken is literally unplayable on ultra settings. I get 28-30 fps in Valdrakken while Hogwarts Legacy runs at 104 in open world with raytracing on ultra.
The worse thing even is that my m1pro macbook has better performance with a mobile chip than my pc with a 4070ti. (40-45fps in the same zone)
I have a 4070 ti aswell and get around 80 fps in vald on ultra 1440p.
Whats your CPU?
r5 2600x but thats not the issue. Hogwarts Legacy has a better engine and is more graphics demanding and I get triple the FPS with raytracing on ultra which wow doesnt even have.
But it is a CPU bottleneck.
I went from a i7 8700k to a i7 13700k and saw significant improvement in wow.
Though i agree for how the game looks it should run a lot better.
A guildie of mine got a 4090 in a 10k GBP rig and he has like 60 fps so the cpu bottleneck is out of the question
This IS exactly the issue.
Your 2nd gen Ryzen has a very low IPC (singlethreaded performance) which is bottlenecking you hard in WoW since it depends on one strong CPU-Core.
I would strongly recommend you upgrade to a Ryzen 5800X3D (not the normal X version) since it will literally double your FPS in WoW and more.
That sentence doesnât even make any sense⌠there is no CPU on the market that does not bottleneck in a WoW Raid or event with many players.
If you want help then maybe you should not exagerate like this⌠unless your playing 10man normal or lfr with most people afk, you will not get stable 144 FPS in any current raid encounter with any current CPU.
For example with my 5800X3D (which is the fastest CPU in WoW atm together with the 13600/900K Intels), i have drops to sub 60 on Broodkeeper mythic and Rasza and 30man Heroic is MUCH worse.
Your Ryzen 2600X is slightly slower than my old Ryzen 3900X which i played WoW on for about 3 years until i upgraded just before DF prepatch.
I had drops below 30 FPS on heroic 30man and some mythic bosses with adds or at pull with bl.
The 5800X3D literally doubled my FPS in raids and Oribos⌠well everywhere.
30ish FPS in Valdrakken is normal for Ryzen CPUs below the 5000 series and old Intel CPUs.
Iâm at 80-90 FPS now on average, depending on the time of day and how many people are there on the main place before the AH.
Although the stuttering is real when flying over that spot.
The only settings that will improve your FPS in Valdrakken (because they are CPU dependant) is view distance and environmental details.
PS: why are replying to me calling me a shill for blizz when im literally telling you how bad my FPS were in shadowlands and how i âsolvedâ the âproblemâ (you can only do so much because of the engine limit).
nobody wants help from you, you dont provide any you just provide excuses nobody needs tbh âŚ
There is 1 single thread or person u did help , game runs like sât and all u keep repeating is cpu addons cpu addons cpu addons in every single message âŚ
Buy a better cpu.
The game might have come into existence in 2004, but its NOT a 2004 game. The game engine has been updated several times since.
However as others have already told you, it does require a CPU with STRONG single threaded performance.
LOL
SCP has always been the bottleneck of most if not all MMOâs
Suggest you do some research when buying your future hardware upgrades rather than expecting your 4070ti to carry your FPS in an MMO.
In case you wanted some visual reference to go pc-builds dot com and use their bottleneck calculator
your combo at 1440p = 38% bottleneck by your CPU
your combo at 1080p = 51% bottleneck by your CPU
I will repeat. Again.
Hogwarts Legacy runs with the SAME CPU AT 104 FPS WITH RAYTRACING ON ULTRA, IN THE OPEN WORLD. Witcher 3 last february update, 50-60 fps same settings.
WoW doesnt have raytracing. There are very few people in valdrakken because no1 really plays this game anymore. So how is this again: cPu bOtTlEnEcK
''What is a CPU bottleneck?
A CPU bottleneck is when a CPU is incapable of keeping up with other hardware, generally the graphics card, in a certain task. You will experience subpar FPS, slowdowns, or in worst case scenarios a stuttery near unplayable gaming experience. Unlike with a GPU where you can increase the FPS by lowering the in game settings or resolution, for the most part there isnât a way to reduce a CPU bottleneck (some in game settings like shadows, lighting, view distance, or other game specific options can help reduce CPU strain but only to an extent). This is why it is important that you pick the right CPU for the games you wish to play.ââ
Can you make it 69?
I dont understand why its hard to grasp that your 2018 CPU will bottleneck your 2023 GPU, and thats not only in wow, you would see higher FPS in your other games as well.
Game was released in 2004 yes, but the graphics are not the same as in 2004.
Plenty of responses to show you what a bottleneck is yet still unable to accept the fact.
Yes WoWâs current engine and performance needs addressing, itâs in a sh!t state for sure but that doesnâtâ change the fact your system is CPU bottlenecked, regardless of the title.
Tell me, why did you ask for help if you seemingly know it better than everyone else here?
As others have stated the 2000series will heavily bottleneck your 4070ti in WoW and quite a few other games.
My advice would be if you have a 300/400series motherboard nearly all of them will support 5000series CPUâS with the latest updates so update your bios to the latest version just google your motherboard name if you donât know how plenty of guides online then if you can afford it get the 5800x 3D if not even the 5600x is pretty cheap now and will give you a decent bump in performance.
