Population balance?

Even though the Cataclysm phase is nearly over and most players are fully geared, I wanted to ask:
With the release of Mists of Pandaria, can we expect any changes to the state of the servers?
Specifically, will we see any population balance on realms like Firemaw?
Is there a chance the overwhelming Alliance majority might decrease, or am I just being overly optimistic?

Ideally, I’d love to play on a server with a more balanced faction ratio—something like 60/40 or 70/30, whether in favor of Alliance or Horde.

Ironforge.pro yeah let’s kill last Alliance Megarealm, because why not?

Without a balanced faction on PvP servers, the world quickly becomes stale. You end up spending most of your time in capital cities and in instances (dungeons, raiding, arena, (rated) battlegrounds).

Having a balanced PvP server, means you have potential world content (in terms of WPVP) always available.

Unfortunately, there are currently no balanced English PvP servers, it’s either completely alliance dominated or horde dominated.

And I don’t think it’s a “player” problem but more of a “blizzard” problem. Just think back during TBC and again in WOTLK when they opened free transfers in the most demonic way possible, absolutely gutting the population.

Due to people quitting the game or some big guilds transferring, a general panic started spreading on Earthshaker PVP. Horde wanted free transfers, to leave the dwindling horde group… and blizzard listened completely killing the horde population.

Blizzard should actively allow limited free transfers from the faction that is dominating to a server where the same faction is not dominating in terms of population.

To allow servers to become completely one sided is monkeys.

What’s the point of having a PVP server when there is no WPVP.

I am from Flamegor PvP with 32% Alliance and 68% Horde ratio, pretty balanced compared to other EU realms, however things you mentioned exist on our realm as well. This happens not because of lack of wPvP, but because real PvP players just prefer not wasting their time killing green lowbies in open world and are too busy farming instanced PvP like arena and RBGs because real competition and rewards can only be found there.

PvE players ignore wPvP 99% and have their instance teleport and flying mounts to get inside the raid.

This may have been the case in Classic 2019 early phases, when ganking opponents in open world gave best rewards. But over time with tools to avoid wPvP players started evading it since it is waste of their time both for PvE and good PvP players.

The only ones who belive it should return are gankers, but they like doing it only in majority, so none of them would use toy to turn into hostile to both Horde and Alliance yaungol in MoP Time lost isle.

These people does not know what they are asking for.

I know not about the pure kino illusions of grandeur you have in your head but in reality you wont be able to do a single quest in Hellfire Peninsula because you will be corpsecamped all day long by high levels of opposite faction. Calling for help wont do much because your faction is doing the same to their lowbies. Thats it. Thats your world pvp. Take it. Its yours.

SoD/Anniversary megaservers shown that even 1/3 of total classic population (thats the most bloodthirsty one) does not want to interact with pvp in any shape or form whatsoever.

On modern versions we will sooner have warmode than forced pvp balance on an already existing servers.

With amount of heirlooms we have you can beat lvl 62+ mobs in Zangarmarsh or level up to 59 and buy gear to skip ilvl check and join HFR in LFD strait away.

Hell yeah you can level up to 60 in the old world, get through the Dark Portal on a flying mount, skip entire zone, level up through dungeons solo and jump through many more hoops while putting on a wig and a clown nose because some max levels got bored and decided to have their way of fun hunting lowbies.

Ive leveled on Gehennas during the last JJ and leveling a toon right now on Firemaw. Somehow i can just play the game without needing a second pair of eyes on the back of my head. Cant say the same about Flamegor because Alliance is camping Mount Hijal quest hubs for a second day in a row.

PVE Megaservers on SoD and Anniversary have been a godsend. If only we had them at the start of classic instead of monofactioned pvp servers

Merge Firemaw + Gehennas + some other low pop realms, and call it a day.

Horde’s wet dream, having all GDKP clients in one bag and Alliance at less than 40% population.

How about we balance racials out first and introduce population hard balance second like in SoD/Anniversary and only then create Megarealm where willing may join on free transfer wave?
