Portal announcer

Is it posible to make a macro detect which portal iam casting, and then say its destination. Also can i make it detect if i am in a party or raid, so it dosnt say it both in party AND raid?

No idea, but i’m curious myself if that is possible.
I do have the following macro on my hotbar and use that at the moment, but that only works for 1 place:

#showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift] Portal: Dazar’alor; Teleport: Dazar’alor
/stopmacro [nomod:shift]
/s Step through the portal to Dazar’alor

It teleports me when i click it, or casts a portal and announces it when i shift-click it.

Not with a macro but weakaruas could

Do you have a link for such an weakaura, or would i need to code it myself?

I don’t. Thinking about it. You could just make macros for the ones you use as in one for ogrimmar, one for Dazar’alor etc. /i would speak to party or raid. A handful of macros would be easier than that weakarua would be.

Yes, but /i only works for instance eg. LFR. /p only works for parties and /raid only works for raid groups. So if i do /p and /raid, some people in the raid would see it twice

I think /i works for all. If not just /s or /y

But if i do /s it will do it regardless if i am in a party or not

You could have the ancient portal macro’d to announce ‘Dalaran-Broken Shore’. :joy:

The trick is just to make one to some far flung corner of the world and giggle.
