There should be portals to Uldum and Vale of Eternal Blossoms inside the Chamber of Heart. This would make doing the Legendary Cloak chain-quest so much more friendly towards alts!
It would also improve quality of life for everyone else.
Blizzard idea of engaging world design (making the player explore!) is by having a middle-man portal to Org.
Iād rather no portals, but thats not the game we currently have, so I donāt really understand why thereās a limit.
Some of us play the game for over 10 yearsā¦
You think these people have something left to explore?
I would rather have more to not waste my time, you on the other hand can refuse using them while i will. Pretty fair
Uldum is right next to Silithus⦠thats not an issue - plus there are Uldum portals in SW/ORG.
Iād love the Shrine portals back instead of the Jade Forest ones though.
Alternatlively I wouldnāt mind a āSend me to Uldumā gryphon/wyvern master at Magniās camp either. But Iām not a fan of portals.
Or do what I do, stop playing 8.3 content that involves visions the sockets can die in a fire, not worth the abhorrent farming and excruciating visions.
The thing is, I find myself taking too many portals.
If iām inside the Chamber of Heart and I want to go to the Vale, I have to take a portal to go back outside, then a portal to go to Boralos, then a portal to go to Stormwind, then another portal to go to the Jade Forest. Thatās too many portalsā¦
Almost 2 minutes of loading screen for me, plus travel time.
An even better idea would be to make the entire quest chain entirely optional for alts.
yeah, i d love an additional fp at magnis place.
Portals are not there to force anyone into using them, you are free to explore all of the world every time you go do dailies and whatnot, free to do it on a ground mount, a 60% mount, even walking, backwards if you want.
But dont use that argument, 95& of the playerbase have experienced all of the content a thousand times on a dozen different characters, and classic-mentality like this creates only one thing: Fatigue.
Imagine taking 2-3 boats, 5-10 flightpaths to uldum, same back and then the same again into pandaria every day to do dailies, and then the same to do world quests, dungeons, raids, pvp ++
Yeah, you go play your classic, dude, i dont get why people with your opinion always want to remove stuff and force people into your ways.
You dont HAVE to use portals, make portals to both zones and let people CHOSE themselves. God.
Such a flawed argument to make, dude.
Just because somethings optional doesnāt mean youāre not realistically forced into taking it.
Randomly made up statistics.
Or, imagine riding across 5 zones filled with players, world bosses, world quests, random treasures to find, ores to mine, herbs to farm.
Just to clarify, I said Iād prefer a portal than what we currently have.
I was either for no portals, or for full portal coverage, not the weird middle-man portal rooms we have now.
Yeah, and imagine the time spent on that considering all the other stuff one have to grind just to stay relevant to play the actual content (m+, raid, pvp etc)
Classic fits those needs better.
Alliance player going to Uldum :
Press teleport to Tol barad, walk from one portal to another.
Old time alliance player going to Vale :
Press teleport to the wall/or the mogu dungeon - depends which assault is going on.
But people can go to Uldum also trough heart chamber port, as well ask mage to get them to vale.
Yes but not gonna happen. Why? No real idea. Someone, somewhere thinks itās a good idea for some strange reason.
Recently Iāve been thinking about what sets old WoW (TBC/Wotlk for me) appart from current WoW.
Current WoW is so much a better product. So more polished and focused. It WORKS really well. Old WoW by comparison feels like it was made by nerds who wanted to have fun. And in some ways it feels like it had more of a soul.
Wish some more of this soul, this passion and blunders, could make it back to what is decidedly a better game than itās ever been (for my money)
I just talked about this in another thread. Basically to me it seems like old WoW was designed to be a virtual world while modern WoW is designed to be a game. Which on is better? Purely a matter of opinion. If you play WoW like a game, itās probably the latter. If you want escapism, probably the former.
But mixing these 2 may not be very good idea. The reason Vanilla doesnāt get tedious to many is because you arenāt doing daily chores in the same handful of areas for 6 months straight. Instead, youāre progressing through the zones and theerās always something new. Sure, some zones are worse than others but youāre never forced to stay there for extended periods of time.
Until end-game of course, but that wasnāt the main focus of Vanilla.
Home HS: zandalar dazarāalor (shammy recall also helps)
Garrison HS + Dalaran HS: easy ports to Orgrimmar
Kind of work for me for time reduction, but I would like portal to Shrine instead of Jade Forest, thatās the most annoying one
Thatās why i finally bought an SSD. IMO every gamer should get an SSD, itās such a huge performance upgrade.
