Possible Allied Race?

These fish people in Hallowfall (not sure what they are called) share the same skeleton and animations as Worgens. Not seen anyone discussing that they are well set up to be an Allied Race.

They clearly don’t plan for them to be Allied Race. They are listed as creature models and not as character models. So they would need to make brand new models to make them playable. They are just another creatures that Blizzard reused skeleton because that’s more efficient. On top of that they are all bad guys, we had no friendly interactions with them, why would we recruit them?

Harronir are so far the only likely candidate for an Allied Race. They are a character models, they use the same animations as Night Elves, they have some customization and getting more in next patch. They are set up to be Druids. Blizzard clearly sets them up slowly throughout the expansion so they will join at the end.

The Alliance can have them, gimme some Ogres! :pregnant_man:

Do we really need a “not-Dark Troll-anymore-but-not-yet-Kaldorei” offshot?

Why the hell should those become an allied race? Their just random monsters there to be killed - nothing touching them during quests indicates they could be friendly…

Actually, during the main quest in Hallowfall a few of them are helping out with the cleanup at Veneration Grounds.

… and no one said they “should” become an allied race. I simply noticed they have the Worgen model, the ‘exact’ same animations (all of them) and that they wear armor pieces.

I’ve done that one several times and that never happend when I played it…

Model rigs alone mean nothing; most “humanoid” mobs just use one of the existing ones; it’s convenient for the devs. A race that has the potential to become an allied race also need some role in the story to be remebered as something more than “enemies to kill”.

Literally saw two of them minutes before making this post during the aftermath at Veneration Grounds. That’s why I made it in the first place. They couldn’t be targeted though and didn’t have any names above them. Two were standing over a load of corpses of the same race.

It’s possible they were a kind of T-Pose bug though, even though they were fully animated. Maybe they were supposed to be dead on the floor like the others?

What made me think they might be a planned Allied Race was mainly that they were wearing modular armor and that I haven’t seen the Worgen model reused like that before.

I’m only musing the possibility.

Worgen model gets used quite often for “beastly races”; saberon would be another example but there are more.

Yeah, most likely a bug; I never saw it and we definitely don’t interact with something like that in any quest.

The corpses are supposed to be there. Can see in this vid. Looks like it definitely was a bug though since they are all dead.

That’s where they were standing though. In the group of bodies.
