Will it be possible to “ninja” or otherwise procure an item in a raid just to give it to your warband alt via warband banks?
Nowadays you can need something you don’t need but most people will give it away cuz they don’t need it but their warband alt will!
Hope it won’t be possible to do that with raid loot, otherwise it’s gonna get toxic.
some reputation problems
OK so… they say it might apply to pre -warwithin stuff but how about say, aldor/scryer? or bloodsail buccaneers / goblins? I hope they will predict problems before something breaks. Like, imagine how easier it would be to get insane FoS…
once per warband or once per character quest?
so, imagine the Valdrakken weekly now - you do once per week per character. Now imagine the reputation accumulates. So if you have 50 chars you can get all exalted with everything in a week? Or will such a quest then be limited to “once per warband” to avoid mule exploitation?
This are three things that come to mind when I hear about warbands. I’m not quite sure I fully like the idea but it’s probably better for some stuff but I hope they won’t encourage toxic behavior or exploits I can sense.
Warbound loot is personal bonus loot seperate from group loot, that works like account bound items, it can be traded between your characters, but not traded to others or sold on the auction house.
They said they will work backwards through reputation over time, starting with DF renown. They probably havent worked out all the details yet, but im sure they will.
I would imagine it would work like the time rift weekly quest, once per week per account, wich character is up to you. But thats just my guess.
They answered this:
Only loot that can be “given” to other chars inside warband are warbound items. Those items are bonus loot abit lower ilvl than what otherwise drops, that is PERSONAL loot. So no, noone can ninja loot for warband characters.
They said it will start applying to tWW and to renown. I do not think they will go that far back, and if they go, they will probably exclude that type of reputation.
Probably they will only let you get the character rewards more than once, while limiting the warband rewards to once every circle.
To be fair they EXPLICITLY said that it was NOT a power gain, so I wouldn’t worry.
The achievement that could be affected by this change would be Hero of Shatrath, not Insane in the Membrane.
Anyway, there could be many options to avoid problems with those factions.
The simpler one would be to exclude those from warbands.
They also could make warband reputations and character reputations coexist, so making the warband reputation be used to purchase rewards but determine based on character reputation what faction loves you and what faction hates you. This allows to keep Hero of Shatrath because it will require to be character exalted with both factions with one character.
Another option could be to make all reputation warbands but make those opposite factions determine who hates you based on a choice made by every character.
The game will introduce a new type of items which will drop as special loot. They can’t be sold but can be transferred to a different character from the Warband, much like hand-me-downs.
Well you could on one character just farm Bloodsail rep by mass pulling goblins from all BB while on the other you are doing the Goblin rep. So you do not have to fill up rep by depleting one bar.
If its warband wide wouldn’t either rep also count the negative rep gained?
Also the BB/bloodsail rep is one of the easiest parts of that grind as you just start with bloodsail and then hand is a ton of cloths to gain that rep back with the goblins before going on a pirate killing spree.
Yeah but currently you could have one character with exalted Blood Sail, then you could have one character with exalted Steamwheedle. Which rep is now taken?
Also BB still have quests that force you to fight bloodsails so will those screw up your rep? That are the problems which are why they have to wait till classic for account wide rep as in Classic we have multiple enemy reputation factions and in TBC also Scryer/Aldor which are the reasons they wait for them till the end.
only GAINED reputation is taken, not negative reps for example my DK has the INSANE title
all the exalted reps would be shared , the " at war" reps would not
Yeah but even afterwards, we are still at war with the syndicate and despite that we are able to get Syndicate rep up to Neutral by killing Rabenholdt guys. So will then in the future we will be able to kill BB/BS and Rabenholdt/Syndicate guys without reputation loss?
rep loss would not be account bound, its character bound, by the actions of that Character
Rep gain account wide is for + GAIN to save the time to farm them again on an alt
