I had tried pve content in the past- But it never grew onto me. I never liked it, and PVP offered everything I wanted. I was happy & content.
In comes Legion. It destroys everything I had enjoyed about the game and since class design was also through the roof bad, I decided I won’t do PVP and I’ll try PVE again, playing as a tank.
I pug raided throughout legion and I can without a hint of doubt say that I have never been more spiteful, loathsome and angry over a video game than during that time period. I had never before even cancelled my subscription but I did that for the first time during Legion. I also tried mythic+ but I found that to be even more cancerous.
That being said, I understand the utility the system provides for people like you- But it kills it for players like me, who enjoy just 1 type of content.
But that’s not a problem per-say- The mythic+ system (while I loathe it) in many ways compensates for PVE activities and being able to jump into them. Even if PVP and PVE gearing were separated, people could still easily gear up for PVE through mythic +, without having to do two types of content (even though I saw people doing that as far as MoP without little trouble).
My enjoyement in the game (used to) revolve around having a main in pvp and getting rewards that I wanted, leveling another pvp alt to enjoy the game with and basically rinse and repeat that until the expansion was over, and I loved it. I haven’t been able to do that for 1 and a half expansion now.
I’m also a roleplayer so I create some of the content myself with my friends so there’s that.
Well I agree. But my main concern is that I don’t want my hard-earned PvP gear to feel “worthless” if in-case i decide to join some raid. It should be viable in PvE as well. So they did a good thing removing Resillence, PvP power etc.
In that aspect, WoD had a much better PvP gearing system, PvP gear was sold at vendors & automatically scaled to appropriate ilvls in instanced PvP and the Mythic snowflakes also got to keep their shiny gear at an advantage in PvE because of the set bonuses.
And getting back on point. BFA has the worst system by far in terms of gearing & PvP Progression, they are literally shoving down Raids, Mythic+ dungeons down our throats if we want to make our character strong. Or depend on the bs RNG system with low droprates & worthless weekly rewards. Like for example, I’ve been leveling my warrior in Fury, stayed in Fury throughout, and once I hit 120, I saw a damn Gladiator “Shield” as my weekly reward. GG.
It wasn’t “worthless”- It was very much usable for entry level raiding. I for example raided HC helfire citadel in my full Conquest gear just to get a couple of mogs, without an issue.
Was it optimal? No. Was it acceptable? Yes, and definitely for normal.
