Postive for all specs, or not? LFD

Its still a private server you said that I had never played on any but I have.

Never said anything of the sort there is a reason why I dont play on warmane any more. I dont care about most private servers, even less so when the interactions dont really exist, once again you said I never played on any I countered with some of the once I have played. Stop pretending that playing a expansion for 12 years makes you a expert on how people who play on offical servers will behave. You are a jerk and that means no one will want to interact with you really other than for their own goals. No wonder you never get any social interactions in tbc…

Seems not apparently.

And for the rest, you will be reported for insulting.

I could also report you if I wanted to for insulting but im a adult about things. Just because you cant counter what im saying because you know you are behaving just like a jerk on the forums and thats the only place I have had any sort of interaction with you. And me calling you one makes sense from you calling me Nothing.

This is sadly too true.

It’s gonna be even worse in wotlk then what it is now, trust me. Both because reserv this/reserve that/reserve everything AND beccause of fotm class/spec and the dps/gear.

Worse then ever in classic yet…

Sorry to burst your bubble but your behaviour aint all that good either…

This has been discussed alot in the various RDF thread, and I’m sick and tired of it. There is no point in discussing it simply because most of the anti-RDF’ers, like Cupid here for example just refuse to see the problems that will come without RDF only out of spite or pure principle or thinking that ~14 year old memories are a better source to trust then current experience with private servers.

I do know that, I have been silenced once for calling myself a certain type of hole, I know that im not always a nice person at all and on the forums im a bit worse than everywhere else but I can also be curtail when it makes sense to be that. But at least I dont claim that other players experiences are not real, and Im not the first to throw a insult someones way I do keep them until they have insulted someone else or me.

Well, for what it matters I think we can agree that this place brings out the worst in most of us. I can for sure admit to, on occasions, having behaved in ways I’d just never would outside of this place.

Maybe not. You just pretend they don’t matter instead.

Well the feeling that I pretend they dont matter most likley comes from me being 1 a sloppy writer 2 have seen that if you work for other types of experiences they do exist and a lot of the people complain about the community being dead already while a better one dose exist if one goes looking for it, ofc other peoples experiences matter but I dont have much sympathy for people complaining about things that they could find solutions for if they went looking for them instead of complaining, lets say someone complains about not being able to find a group as a rogue for a dungeon, they could A make their own group B go looking for a guild that is actually helpful to their members but it most likley wont be pushing as hard for parses and such, in those cases people need to decied if they want to push for efficient clears or put in some leg work them self.

This is just totally not my experience. At all. As a ret pala, not rogue.

  • I am a nice guy. Fairly chatty when I want to/have the opportunity.
  • I HAVE been looking for groups for hours to no avail.
  • I HAVE tried to make my own groups, many many times. Which mostly fails for various reasons.
  • I HAVE tried a few different guilds. Nice and rather sociable, but for grouping it didn’t quite work that either.

But that discussion I am not getting into… again. So let’s just leave it with us having very different experiences.

EDIT: Just to make my point even more clear:
I also have done tbcc with a mage alt. Guess what? That one had a way easier time getting groups.
Wonder why? Surely it can’t be because… meta!?!

You have it backwards. No one denies that the Dungeon Finder solves many problems. It solves problems but also causes problems – mainly its negative impact on the social qualities of the game. And many (but not all) in the pro-RDF camp refuse to acknowledge this. Some go so far as to suggest that the RDF creates a more social environment.

Problems are real. Dungeon Finder is a solution, but maybe not the best solution. I won’t pretend to know what the best solution is, but I know I don’t want the Dungeon Finder (at the very least not at the start of Wrath).

I will ask for 99999th time what social aspect u see in

“LFM tank healer”
“LFM dps no plate”
“LF3M XXXX HR”
“LFM Gundrak HC, 4000 GS, achieve required”

Because I fail to see any social aspect to it. Noone prevents You to be interactive with other players using RDF or not.

No one prevents you from not joining those groups that just says that ether, but having less people to form groups with kind of would prevent me from knowingly creating a jank group that will have to be more social, and you should never ever join the xxxx HR runs to not encourage their behavior

Ofc ppl will join those groups casters etc., noone wants to waste time looking for tank when the tank itself is looking for dpsers

Now read this part back to yourself

Sadly most people dont want to “waste” time so it will make it a lot harder for everyone who want to make groups the old school way. And there are interactions that comes from the old school of making groups that are others than the once you put in there before.

Ill just play offspec tank and do the same HR gear  . If Blizz dont want to add RDF then we have to play the game it will be. Sorry

RDF or LFD, you will not be invited with troll specs such as Frost Mage or Subtlety Rogue.

I have invited frost mages and sub rogues during TBC even. Wont change during wrath. And the people that use that those specs have a harder time to get a group for a dungeon should help and do something about it, dungeons are easy enough as it is so why this need to min/max them?

Yeah, you will. Since the dungeons are a joke, and you can steamroll through most of it.

I will, however, never invite plate dps:) or casters if my healer needs gear. Ill prob invite a bunch of hunters/rogues/ferals.

I think nobody can tell what the result will be. All we can do is speculate.

So here I give my guess:
In TBCC I’ve learned first hand how it can completely destroy your game experience if you are considered not meta. The worst thing is, that no amount of hard work can make that up. Because almost every player you interact with will immediately think: “rogue=worthless”.
Once you get invited into dungeons or raids, you can chage people’s minds and prove your worth as player and as person. But very often you will not even be given this chance.
Trying to convince the people of your worth, when the general opinion is, that you are not meta, is like fighting windmills. For every player you manage to convince you meet 10 others, that will still think you’re worthless.

So I do think WotLK will start strong. Even if people complain about no RDF or other chages, only few people will be as consequent as me and actually quit their sub. Especially since not every player that is unhappy with the chages was in the same situation as me, where the mix of playing on a low pop server as a non meta class and joining the wrong guild at the start made the game basically unplayable.

But I think after the strong start we will see a big decline, because I do predict, that the gating might become even worse because of the LFG-Tool. There will probably be addons that make it easier for you to compare players and pick only the cream of the crop.
So a lot of players will see themselves in a situation where they can’t play the game.
Some might reroll, but I think the majority will just quietly leave the game.

So in the end I do think there will be fewer non meta classes. The ones that remain will either have a good guild that supports them, a lot of friends to help them, be fast and get everything they need out of dungeon before the big run on dungeons at the beginning of the expansion starts to die or they will not do dungeons at all and just quest and do other stuff.

In WotLK every class and specc might be viable for dungeons, but TBCC showed, that people aren’t satisfied with viable. They want the best. Most players are fixated on metas, as if that’s the definitive way to play the game and every other way is wrong.
In TBCC you could have done every dungeon with every mixed group. Except maybe SH HC and BF HC, that required you to bring some CC. Still people kept building meta groups. And I don’t see why this would suddenly change in WotLK Classic.

But in the end this is just an assumption based on my experiences in TBCC, so it could turn out completely different.

Yea, this is exactly what I believe will happen.

For myself, I wont even bother with the launch.
