Circle of Healing is a powerful and mana efficient instant aoe heal with short cooldown.
Prayer of Healing is filler spell of a weak, high mana cost 1.5 sec aoe heal with no cooldown, typically used when your circle of healing & prayer of mending is on cooldown and you have mana to burn into to reduce the cooldown of your Divine Word Sanctity.
In practice circle of healing is my number one healing spell (along with sanctity) and I only spam prayer of healing during my Apatheosis buff to quickly reduce cooldown of my Sanctity.
By saying “get rid of circle entirely” you suggest that that we lose our main healing spell and get to use own crappy filler instead. I strongly disagree.
CoH is gonna be useless. Doesn’t heal anywhere close to enough.
Let’s put it this way:
At ilvl 619 you’ll have 6 milion hp with stamina in TWW.
CoH is gonna heal for 120k on a 6 million health pool, at this ilvl.
Meanwhile, heal with LW is gonna heal for closer to a million per cast and it benefits from trail of light. CoH costs more to cast and heals far less than triaging with LW heals. It also doesn’t benefit from the set like heal does, so LW heals are gonna be infinitely much better than CoH.
It doesn’t seem to do much more healing than PoH. Instant and cheaper, yes.
I just feel its unnecessary bloat at this point. You could make PoH a smart heal baseline and have the CoH talents change to something along the lines of -
‘Holy word Sanctify increases the healing of your next PoH by 50% and reduces its cast time and mana cost by 100%’
You may wanna reconsider your talents, weakauras and rotation in that case. Wowhead and Icy veins guides are helpful at this.
I wanted to send you some links from warcraftlogs com to show that in the fights of practically all high perfoming priests circle of healing is the highest healing ability making 9-10% of overall raid healing, while prayer of healing usually makes 1% or less.
Unfortunately this forum won’t allow me to send links yet so you will have to check it yourself if you’re curious.
If you check the data, you will see that Prayer of Healing is a weak filler spell good only at burning your mana.
Also do not forget that CoH is an instant spell and can be used when you have to move or get knocked back. These spells are just way too different.
I’d rather suggest that you petition that Blizzard makes Prayer of Healing a viable spell and not a pathetic high mana / low out put filler spell it is not. That would be more worthwhile rather than petitioning that we lose one of our best spells.
Currently my holy priest has 525 gear and my CoH’s average non crit heal is 80k + 50% master bonus = 120k average non crit hit and this is at 525 ilvl, while you claim CoH to heal for 120k at 619 ilvl, I dunno where you get those fancy numbers.
Also it would be more fruitful if you decipher for us some of abreviations, like LW and FC.
This is an interesting one, [Prayer of Healing] is a normal cast and [Circle of Healing] is an instant cast. They also work extremely well if you read through the talent build for increase in standard healing. I have tried it and I can say there is huge potential, I will not be playing Holy Priest for some time though.
