Pre-Patch Event is quite laggy and doesn't feel fun because of that

How does it come that we pay Blizzard monthly to play this + expansion itself, in the year 2024 and they still didn’t attempted to ease even the lag caused by 100+ players at the same time fighting a mob?

Is it so hard to make the pre-patch events instead of open world activities into instanced content that is actually playable with a limited amount of players?

And before someone comes and says “muh evolving world experience”, it’s not a good experience if 70% of the pre-patch experience persists of Slideshow Bob giving us a visit.

Just wait for tonight, then it will be even more laggier xD

Wait a few days for when less people do it. The problem is the sheer number of players doing them.

I have no lag, but 90 minutes between events, when the boss dies within three minutes, is not fun at all.

I just came on, did the quest, and then was told the next event starts in 1 hour, 14 minutes. So, I suppose I have to set my alarm. Not fun, and not how I want to play video games.

I suppose that’s the downside to busy servers.
I’m not having any lag so far.

The ‘cooldown’ will go down per week afaik.
I suppose to mimic Azeroth getting more agitated?

Is that so? I mean, I’d like that.

Nothing to do with it being laggy.
I tried very early morning with zero lag and it still didn’t feel fun.

It’ll drop to 60 and 30 minutes eventually, but it’s probably a good idea to do the weekly quests that yield 1500 of the currency right from the start.

The pets are 10k each (there are three), the two mounts are 20k each, plus all the other stuff for a total of apparently 300k+ of the stuff. I’m really only interested in the Windrider, but I imagine for collectors this event will be a real grind.

I think I’d just have preferred a flexible event, something like instanced boss fights that I can queue for at any time, like the holiday events.

Sure. Ofc.

I have no interest in any of it. All quite ugly.
I’m using this event to fill my last 2 slots on my main with champion gear (in fact, I just got a belt! Only gloves to go!).
And then I’ll gear some alts when they can leave remix.

The pre-patch event is a huge disappointment, you not missing anything with the lag.

I’m liking the framing of it; fitting it into the narrative.
And the recap cinematic I actually found nice.

I wonder if there will be a little more before heading into early access.

But the event itself; dime in a dozen.

all I’m doing right now is pew-pew´ing as a druid. I don’t even need to move. and this is all we got until 54 mins from now for some main event which no doubt won´t last long x.x

What I miss right now is a timer. It would make things much easier if once we entered an area, there would be a timer on when the event will begin.

Yeah…the timer was implemented a bit weird…You can see it in the previously active zone. x)

I love how the response to a game that we pay monthly for is “Just wait and do it later”

No offense, but the only fix for that problem is, less people playing in the same corner of the same zone. No matter how good the engine, how matter how good the services in the backend, when hundreds of players are at the same spot there will be lag. No matter how much we pay for it.
You can only do one of two things. Trying to deal with the situation as is or wait a few days.

See, that’s the only fix they’ve come up with. But there are countless of other options to ensure not everyone has to be in the same spot.

Like make these events in like 20 different spots, all active at the same time. That way people don’t all have to go to the same one.

For making them in 20 different zones would mean fitting mini events + fitting bosses for 20 different zones and that would for sure be too much for what a pre-event really is.

I’m actually happy they do a pre-event at all. They could also just don’t do any, like 99.9% of all other MMORPG.

This is exactly the mentality that makes stuff worse.

We shouldn’t have to settle for mediocrity or “it could be worse”

We are literally paying a full box price + a monthly subscription.
Stop settling for the bare minimum.
