When does a pre patch normally starts? 2 weeks before the new expansion or?
They said 4 to 6 weeks. So 29th or 15th or so of August, dependant on if it’s patch day (Wednesday) or not.

Brian actually said 2-6 weeks pre-patch. with 4 weeks being the prefered time
but with TBC-C we where promished a long pre-patch but actually got the sortest to date. so everything is possible.
but i think we can expect about 4 weeks. atleast untill we get some official pre-patch date

TBC pre patch was announced only 12 days before so imagine…

Yes. but at minimum we would get 2 weeks. thats about the same as TBC-C pre-patch
They said they felt that was to short. So no, we can expect a minimum of 4 weeks.

Well Realm Consolidation is 9 August and 13 August is Wednesday, so I bet either 13 or 20… I hope not too long as 27 August

Tnx guys, so no lvling a new char then lol. Gonna give the fresh servers a go. Just dunno if it’s a right decision, considering they gonna allow transfer agter some time…
This is stupid as heck, they gave release date of expac but not pre-ptach.

Building some hype maybe? Ironing out some bugs (hopefully)? Or what is most probable they prepare technical solution for Gehennas and Firemaw, because thouse two mono factional Megarealms will burn in horrible dumpster fire of lags and queues if left in current condition, when pre patch arrives or even when it is announced.
They will lock the servers for char creation and transfer and offer free transfers to Earthshaker, Golemagg and probably the newly consolidated realms, that’s it, their conscience will be completely clear, since people then choose to sit in the queue even if they have a way out. I will bet all my in-game gold that they won’t even consider doing anything else.
As for Prepatch date, assuming they didn’t lie about the 4 week minimum, the options are 24, 17, 10th of August, though seeing as the server merge will take place on 9th, and will supposedly take up to 2 weeks, I expect only the 24th as a realistic option. I kinda doubt they will release prepatch while holding the migrated characters hostage, tho I wouldn’t put it past them.

6 weeks seems good because tons of people are gonna have to level 1-70 on a fresh server with no economy/boosting available. Unless they wanna cater to no-lifers only they gotta give us 6 weeks minimum

6 weeks means prepatch on 9th in US and 10th in EU. On the day they merge servers. Do you find this realistic?

Is it possible they do it and it screws over someone in the middle of mergers? Yes
