Hey, I quit the game a week after dragon flight but I’ve recently started playing again. I’m looking at the shop… am i right in thinking, if I pre-purchase midnight, i will also get the war within addon? or do i need to buy that separate?

If you ask me, id do TWW first as its got a bunch of events that are much easier when there are still people around.
No. Your gear will probably somewhat low, but by doing the main questline you will catch up. And at lvl71 buy the blue crafted gear from AH.
is the dragon riding stuff not worth completing?
Tbh, I don’t know. But it seems improbable to me that you would have to unlock all the dragonriding perks when you start in War Within.
Then again, I don’t know.
The glyphs are just for an achievement now.
