Anyone else getting a 3GB pre-release download just now? Any ideas on what it might be?

That would be nice. Hopefully they fix transmogs vanishing from people’s accounts. I keep losing my Wendigo Woolies transmog and have to wait 10 - 20 mins for it to show up again. =/

Mine right now shows 3.18GB remaining to download, with 26% complete, so a total of ~4.25GB. A very hefty download, and, as you say, labelled “Pre-release download”
Oh wow. Now it’s gone. Hrmph.
P.S. Mine was crawling, and the displayed d/l speed was decreasing when I looked at it. I wonder if there was a push, and the sending server timed out? Or maybe I already had much of the content because I have the PTR installed. We’ll find out eventually.

It happens to me sometimes as well.
Go at X normal download speed for the first few hundreds of MB, then speed up and finish it in like 1 second after.
Blizzard have an intelligent mechanic with downloads though. I haven’t looked up the details, but the idea is that they break downloads into sections. If you happen to have one of the downloadable sections already on your disk - because, for example, you got it with a PTR build - they won’t download it again, but will use the one you already have.
So, even if the intended download was 3GB, you will need to download only 1GB if you already have the rest.
So, downloads from them often complete earlier than expected when they find the rest already in place.

I had some dowload/udpate last night but I paid no attention to it so no clue what size it was.
Just this morning I have noted a 4gb pre release download, seems a bit big just for bug fixes etc, so it this something extra and unannounced?
