Preserved contaminants - do we want a rotation no more?

Hey yall,

I’m just asking, like a poll, do we want all ranks of all preserved contaminants to be permanently available on M.O.T.H.E.R., as soon as possible?

The topic has been long debated since this rotation system has been implemented, so everyone knows what I’m talking about.

In my opinion, let’s not wait for Shadowlands prepatch while having to clear tens and tens of M+ dungeons, because there simply is just nothing else to do in the current expansion. Let’s just have them all up and be free to buy any, whenever we gathered enough echoes for them. Not like, when I know that in 2 days that twilight devastation rank 3 will be on vendor, I’ll spam M+ like crazy, less sleep, less concentration to real life, because, yeah, it will be soon gone and I have to wait for another month to be able to buy it again.

I hope blizz reads this. Feel free to express your thoughts.

If that was the case, then…

Would be even more true.

Not saying I disagree with you, but it wouldn’t provide any more entertainment value whilst we wait for Shadowlands, if anything it would quickly trivialize all the available content that we do have, no matter how little that may be right now.

They are speculation regarding this on WoWhead,there have been some movement in the game files…so there is a possibility that come 16.06. all corruptions will be purchasable from Mother.
I hope this is the case.

That’s not what I read, the datamining revealed the possibility of a change in the order that the vendor would offer the corruptions, reducing the rotation from a 6 week random order to a 4 week fixed roation.

I don’t know what game you are playing, but since 3 extension i never got the time to do all the thing i wanted to.

Like :

  • leveling up new character in horde and alliance side with all classes.
  • trying all specialisation before they change in the next extension
  • Doing all PvP with them to understand them all
  • Farming transmog and mount i want
  • Doing thing that i will not have the time to farm for the next extension
  • Doing thing i missed to do in that list i telled myself to do last extension.

I disagree.
All available content already is trivial if we are being honest.

If I was able to buy the exact corruptions I wanted whenever then I would:

  • Farm the echoes more to acquire them (Currently I just tell myself I’ll have enough by the time it comes around anyway)
  • Do more PVP because corruptions in PVP is actually fun
  • Play around with full mastery/haste/crit builds as well as GW, Mind Flays and TD’s
  • Play different specs because i’d have their BIS corruptions
  • Play my alts more for the same reason as above

All of that is healthy content that sets achievable goals and keeps me playing. Carrot on a stick timegated content is a lot of content in theory but the reality is people just quit at random intervals. If you have a goal then most people will at least stick around to achieve it.

I don’t think anyone truly likes the way the corruption vendor was implemented. I actually don’t think Blizzard could have done it in a worse way.

They could have always not added the vendor at all and we would all be at RNG mercy: WIll your next weekly 475 will have your bis corruption or the most useless one? :rofl:

IMO they couldn’t - it’s your typical end-of-expansion content nerf. Except this time it’s done by increasing player power

Hopefully it means that they are lowering the rotation order over time.

i stopped max level BFA, that taken too much time on my list for something that gonna dissapear at shadowlands, aswell i stopped pushing CR as MM hunter in S4 :smile: .

I prefer to be prepared for shadowlands than to play max level and have nothing ready ^^

That’s pretty much how I interpret the information, but I am keeping my feet on the ground considering it’s datamined and even wowhead say it could be incorrect.

It’s a good question.

For me the current system is fine - it takes me time to farm the echos and after experimenting I have found waiting peroid is fine for this, maybe a bit longer than I need personally.

You make a good arguement how it will push you to certain activites (btw arena is faster echoes by a fair margin!). I don’t think such urgency is really needed deep down. I think it would be perfectly fine if we had options for all at all times.

To take things one step beyond - I wish we could take our corruptions and move them to other items. Already a lot of lucked involved there getting a drop, then the corrupt and then the desired corrupt and rank. I definently think it is not unreasable to have all corrupts available to buy now at least.

Even better is they share the current team thoughts on the situation. Regardless I am glad we saw these come to the vendor. Hope Shadowlands takes a while so we can play with the system and bridge the gap between how much people play.
