Is there any hope that we will ever get preserved forsaken models? Even just the chinese models with no exposed bone showing, I’m not asking for a full human retex as an allied race…
Forsaken models and animations are always brilliant but they just look stupid with their bones poking out of their armour and the inability to wear a long-sleeved anything…
As they would be just another reskin, they would be implemented as an allied race, which means that these new forsaken would have to split from the main forsaken branch. It will definitely not happen in BfA as the current warchief is a forsaken. There is a chance it will happen in future expansions, but honestly I really doubt it.
Also if we get the Chinese model as an allied race, what will the Chinese realms get? Normal Forsaken?
Exactly! It’s already all in the game files, you can even turn it on if you edit a couple of .ini things.
Who says they have to be an Allied Race or split off from the main forsaken branch?
It could be an option in the character customisation just like straight backs are for orcs. Even if they wanted to make an Allied Race out of it with separate racials for whatever reason, they can still be Forsaken as Forsaken, just called ‘Fresh-Raised’ or something and give them a bit of flavour that Sylvanas is getting better at preservation techniques. Makes more sense than void elves.
Edit: As for what the Chinese market would get… I don’t know, more colours if you wanted to do something special for them? The censorship is at their end, no need to restrict what content you give the rest of the world (as Blizzard already doesn’t, since skeletons are in the game by default).
Just as Highmountain taurens could be just an option in character customization, but Blizzard decided that you have to grind to get them as “allied race” so you could have content. That is basically the concept of allied races. You get new customization options if you grind, cos the game is lacking content, so Blizzard is trying to timegate everything.
If there ever be a preserved forsaken option, I bet my gold that it will be locked behind a grind.
They did add straight backs to orcs however, and they weren’tan Allied Race.
Highmountain Tauren, though very similar to Tauren, do admittedly have a distinct culture to a certain extent and are a specific, given faction in the game.
Whereas orcs who stand up a bit more or forsaken with a bit less rot aren’t meaningfully distinct even by that generous standard.
Chinese models could be easly added as a customization options. Current forsaken character models already have all the necessary components to hide bones and gaps in the legs and arms. All they need is a way to switch it.
I played tons of games, and I must say that sometimes these “restrictions” are pretty cool.
In many games, special edited models for china look, well not exactly super amazing, but cool enough to be accessible for all regions.
Often I found payment methods more viable for chinese than for other regions (for example one game sells boosters for more xp and stuff, in china you get booster for X dungeon runs, in other regions its timed, so you waste it by not doing dungeons) and tons of other things.
It would be pretty cool if some of these things were available as bonus options.
Haha; yeah - I do think it would be very silly to give that model to the Horde, really. Certainly not without giving them Lightbound Orcs or something to even it out, because in all seriousness having the human model on Horde would just be… detrimental to faction identity.
