Just reaching out for some tips and tricks with regards to healing in PvP as I fancy giving it a go, however im getting incredibly frustrated how bad I am at it
As a newbie to healing im obviously finding it really difficult, especially when getting bursted down I just cant seem to figure out what spells to cast to survive the amount of damage classes are putting out, especially when im stun locked, silenced etc etc I just feel pretty useless most games, but im obviously the issue as ive been against healer priests that dont seem to die
My random team mates must be raging at me after these skirmishes im practicing but i simply just dont get it
Is there any decent guides/videos that I can be referred to? I dont want to throw the towel in so early as its quite fun in random BGs but that feels more like a button spam for me which makes me a fraud!
Also might be worth asking if there is a preferred preference between disc and holy? As i probably dont have that figured out yet, i avoided disc because I wanted my focus to be just healing and felt like that was more relying on damage
I understand there are so many spells and abilitys for priest so I think ive chosen a difficult class but id like to at least start with the basics then build on it, problem is I just dont understand the basics at moment and im dying too easily.
Dear OP, I would recommend not bothering with PVP until max level. Then you have two options purchase pvp gear from AH or simply grind gear using epic BGs which is the more efficient way to earn honour unless you are in a pvp realm and in a guild that engages in wpvp to farm coins.
Once you have a good amount of versatility, things become easier. There are some useful healing guides for priest in the priest section on the wow forums.
Healing in general is very rough atm, and the vast majority of times when people complain about you in skirmishes/shuffle etc you shouldnt care about any of it.
I havent tried holy yet in DF, but here’s some general advice:
cast shadow spells to soak interrupts
fake cast a lot and use omnibar or some other addon to track enemy interrupts
sometimes it can be worth casting holy spells when on high hp, and get the interrupt out of the way at a point when it doesnt matter as much if you get interrupted
use root+fade to get away from melees
try to manage your cds in a way so you can survive 2 big goes. As disc you generally wanna avoid using both ps and trinket on the same go. As holy the same applies to guardian angel to some extent. That being said: the game is so bursty and intense atm that you often have to use all of your cds immediately regardless of planning.
position yourself so that its easy for your teammate to dmg the guy(s) hitting you, and hard for the enemy healer to heal them
