Priest, Monk, Druid OFF meta healers

Mythic + OFF meta healers struggle

I have been pushing M+ since Legion 19-20. Never had any problem pushing keys or get an invite. Since Shadowlands started I have been struggling to get an invite. When you are upset about this we often hear that. Yeah mate why don’t you push your own keys.
Pushing my own keys: I work hard to push up to 20 being careful who I invite 1 small mistake happens let’s say no interupt or the tank pulls the whole place cause he saw it on MDI whole party leaves the key ofc. Sometimes my key goes down 2/3 levels. It’s no problem for these people cause they get invite to the next one.
I have no friends who currently play WOW to push keys with I am part of many M+ community really trying hard but after a certain level people only want holy paladins or resto shamans.
Other things what people say that why don’t you main another char. I can’t be a FOTM player I have most fun to play my MW monk and I know that spec inside and out. I pay for this game as well and wanna have fun playing the spec what I love. Every healer is able to do a +20 key .I spend hours of trying to apply for keys as a healer.
How could this happen? A healer is Toping meters on bosses and people can only time keys if the healer has like 5k+ overall damage. My priest, resto druid, mw monk friends out there trying their best and we just can’t do even half of wha tholy paladins can but we do the same effort (even more).A healer always helped with damage when they had time to do so but this healer DPS meta is a joke .

Make some god damned friends. If I need a tank for any key I’ve got 5 guys and a lady that I can call besides my guildies and IRL friends.

Let’s hope 9.1.5 will make some changes to healer damage. So far the class tuning seems to be focused on DPS classes and AoE abilities. Mistweavers, resto druids, and probably priests could really use some more damage.

For pugging it is always the same meta stuff. In bfa nothing else than druid got invited (when i was a paladin), in legion it was paladin/druid (when i was a shaman). I made friends who don’t care about the class i play.

Thw thing is, the only healer that should do damage is disc. Thats the fantasy of it.

Now a holy pala does way more damage.

Beside disc, they should revamp the healers to catter mostly to healing; every class has some utility

Druid hots -mobility
Shammy- insane aoe heals
Hpala- amazing utility
Mw- stuns and panic buttons

Nowadays they try to make all healers dps and some of them have better damage than disc who is intended to have the best dps by far as healer.

Its a joke:)

And that’s the reason I’m not playing M+ at all anymore. Starting at key level x on Wednesday and ending the week at key level x - 3 the next Thursday. Much drama and toxic group members in between. No thank you.

Another thing which, in my opinion, could be easily resolved by cross faction play because it provides a bigger player pool and might as well cause more diversity to successful class combinations.

Not sure if the meta is even important for anything <= +15. Seems that healers are even rarer than tanks in that range. And for pushing meta doesn’t matter, cause it’s done in a static group anyway.

Totally agree.

It’s like this right now for mw monk in pvp, no one wants to take a mw in arena. They bring less utility than other healers and can’t do any damage like all other healers can.

well, im not sure what you meant in your post but if it is you cant find groups as mw,
then yes, its a problem.

monk is one of the most complicated classes in the game, bm, mw and ww, all very complicated to play.
good monk can be amazing while average can underperform so that is why people think monks are useless. which creates another problem, people dont even want to try to play monk because they think its useless.

i invite everyone to play monk, see its potential, and then it would be much easier to find groups.

im not a main switcher, and yet monk convinced me to abandoned my warlock which was by my side during tbc and wotlk.

They need to buff MW damage by a sizeable margin because atm it is just an absolutely fantastic reason not to bring us alongside our mana hunger.

Unlikes paladins, we only get the benefit of melee dps by being in melee dps (or the heals if using leggo, but they’re not smart and only ST) we don’t want to stand there otherwise (because of goddang melee affixes) whereas pally loves the mastery and is generally less frail than us, so stepping into melee is a pretty big deal for us. Also it offers no big healing throughout unless you have leggo and rising mist talent. If you do not, the ONLY reason you’d want to be in melee is to do dps, and unlike pally (which gets healing benefits) and other healers, it is much harder for you to go into “dps mode” because we have to run into melee (which we don’t always want to be in due to risk)

So you may think well surely monk dps is pretty good then, given they have to reposition and it gives no baseline healing bonuses for doing it?
Nope. I believe even after buffs our dps is currently the lowest of all healers, especially ST.
I’m not exactly at a mega high ilevel 228 but even when in my FW gear my single target dps when I’m literally focusing on dps and nothing else is something like 1.7k.

That is absolutely pathetic.

Now when you consider all the repositioning monks do in m+ and how their AOE healing usually takes them off dps for sizeable portions of time (REM setup, font channel for max coverage, vivifys) I have to spend pretty much most of the run fistweaving (and sure as hell hoping the tank doesn’t need a babysitter) and even then yeah I may get around 1.5k overall? When I’ve been dpsing most of the run.

It’s a joke. Why on earth would you bring a Mistweaver when their supporting damage is so low? This isn’t even factoring the significant issues they have to go through in AOE healing preparedness to even maintain their rather lukewarm average group dps.

If paladins get Uber dps by virtue of being a melee dps then we need some of that. Just retune AToTM leggo so it’s relative power remains the same.

Deffo gear issue, MW can do some real nice DPS. Tanked a 16 earlier on a 229 VDH and the MW did 4k dps average, think he was 249ilvl. Seen quite a few do a round the 4k average mark too. Only healer I’ve seen beat that is venth holy, had a top 60 guild mythic raider (alliance) in full BiS raid/all sockets etc at 252 ilvl do 5.5k DPS.

Never seen a druid/priest/shammy come any where close to them numbers.

4k dps is easily doable by a kyrian resto shaman with the covenant legendary.

I get declined for even +15s MW is the least played healer in game but I talked to many other healers and they had the same issues. I kind of want Blizz to solve this problem. . I don’t feel like there is healer balance in game…Let’s be honest we are all mad about holy paladins not just their damage but also so many defensives they have.

The problem is also that for example druids rather stand around wiggling their balls instead of doing dmg in downtimes. Yes they do less overall than a hpal (btw resto shaman can do the same overall dmg…) BUT most of them would do way more dmg if they stop slacking…

I don’t play healer but I can understand your frustration.
I, most of the times, use my key if I want to do M+; not many invite UH DK for 21s or 22s I even struggle to get invited to 20 since WWs change to Necrolord.

In Bfa I used to play tank for the most part, maybe that could be a factor why my keys didn’t got depleted as often as I have experienced in Shadowlands. In Shadowlands I managed to deplete a 20 to a 16 in a day. I’m not an omega player (else I wouldn’t be pugging) but I can carry my weight through a dungeon.

In my opinion in Shadowlands M+ pugging have been really frustrating and demoralizing.
I could give you the same advice many have gave me already: find a group of friends and be done with it… although I admit that would be hypocritical, I’m still pugging and I’m still without a group of friends/contacts to do keys with.

There’s not much you can do about community perception of classes when it comes to PUGs unfortunately.

I personally love melee teams. I love DKs, warriors, even feral druids, survi hunters. They never disappoint me. Sadly SL is not really melee friendly. :frowning:

Can priests and monks get some buff please Blizz and make monks able to heal from range again without issues to their hps!

I have just taken out a few snippets from your post, that imply you should really not be looking back at the past with such rose tinted goggles.

Change “resto shaman” to “resto druid” and your post could literally be about Legion 7.3.2. I was one of the highest ranked mistweavers, and still had an incredibly hard time finding pugs multiple key levels below what I had already timed. I would often look up the leaders an hour or two later to find out they invited someone approximately 1000 rating below me playing - you guessed it - a superior healing class. The reasons remain more or less the same as well. Back then, it was because of better dps, superior external defensives and a flat out bigger healthpool allowing them to survive unavoidable AoE that on higher keys just straight up 1shot you otherwise.

As you can see, not much has changed. Things weren’t any better. There always has been and always will be a ‘best’.
