Priest Strength of Soul and Righteous Fury

I don’t quite get how this works, the rune mentions how the shield will still allow Righteous Fury will trigger from damage absorbed by PW:S as if it were a heal, but when I look up RF it’s about threat generation from holy spells.

How is RF related to healing or why is that relevant to Pw:S?

I tried looking up more information about it but maybe I’m just an idiot, but it doesn’t make sense to me.

Healing causes threat

For instance, when a paladin tank gets a shield and take a 100 damage hit that gets absorbed, that healing gets multiplied by RF and given to the paladins threat.

While regular heals, would give that threat to the healer instead.

Its becuase of the rune:
" Hand of Reckoning
Melee Range

Instant 10 sec cooldown

Requires Paladin

Requires level 1

Taunts the target to attack you, but has no effect if the target is already attacking you.

While you know this ability, the threat bonus from Righteous Fury is increased to 80% and Righteous Fury causes you to gain mana when healed by others equal to 25% of the amount healed. Additionally, while Righteous Fury is active, damage which takes you below 35% health is reduced by 20%. Righteous Fury will remain active until cancelled."

Dunno what you are smoking, but nothing in that rune is relevant to the question from the OP

I dont know what you are smoking Righteous Fury causes you to gain mana when healed by others equal to 25% of the amount healed.

Ah yea i see what you mean now, should really have bolded the relevant part to begin with instead of posting the full rune effect.

Yeah my bad becuase someone cant read. I am sorry.

Just saying, throwing a big wall of text where only a small part of it is relevant can lead to confusion. especially with SoD’s runes thats different to regular wow

If I don’t use the Strength of Soul rune and cast a shield on a Paladin, it doesn’t necessarily bother them and just do nothing?

But if I do use that rune, it means the damage absorbed counts as healing and helps with threat generation on the Pally?

And if the Paladin uses Hand of Reckoning he gains also gets healed?

Yes you dont need to use it and its not too big of a deal for a paladin.

Like I said before, on the Hand of reckoning rune (and to be very clear due to lack of readknowladge) Righteous Fury causes you to gain mana when healed by others equal to 25% of the amount healed.

When you use Strength of Soul rune it absorb damage count as a “heal” for the paladin, gaining mana from the hand of reckoning rune (when he have Righteous Fury active and thats always the case for a tank paladin.

The paladin do not get healed or threat from the Strength of soul rune, just what I explained above.

Right, I meant the Paladin gets mana from the Hand of Reckoning in the end.

But ‘‘when a paladin tank gets a shield and take a 100 damage hit that gets absorbed, that healing gets multiplied by RF and given to the paladins threat.’’ Is this not correct then?

Where do you get that your shield would give threat? This is what it says on the Strenth of soul rune and Righteous Fury will trigger from damage absorbed by your Power Word: Shield as if it were a heal.

I mean I didn’t make that up, that’s what he said so I wasn’t sure how that worked.
