What is the pros and cons of each healer?
Why do disc priests feel tankier than holy paladin?
Which is the solid choice if you want to main a healer?

The one you like the most.
They’re both holy just ones melee and ones ranged. Preferences.
I wonder how you got that impression. My Holy Paladin as almost as tanky as my Prot, while my Disc needs to actively do stuff to get self heal and survive.
15% dmg reduction from focus will stacks twice for 30%.
Macosism cast shadow mend on self to receive 10% less damage.
Barrier with PvP talent, 90 sec cd 50% dmg reduction.
Pain suppression 40% dmg reduction castable while stunned.
Nvm, I just answered my own question lol.
Is it not a nightmare to play Discipline Priest in M+ pugs?
How does a Discipline Priest brings the entire party to full health after a trash pack is killed? You spam Penance or Shadow mend on each party member?
And how is mana ? Going oom too often?
Because of the passive that stacks a 30% decrease in all dmg taken as well as the playstyle of getting healing from dealing damage. You can talent Masochism for yet another 10%, and you’ve got a 40% protection against all damage taken.
Not to mention 2 active dmg reduction CD’s. Tanky enough? Hell yeah!
Paladins don’t have this passive, but their armor and utility should be able to make up for it. Well, for physical damage at least. But, you do get an immunity for either all or just physical damage, protection against movement hindering effects, an on-demand full heal, to name a few…
That was my experience! I did run my KSM with only pugs and I have to say that disc were a lot harder due to bad pulls and unsync party! So if you want an healer that can save the day like Superman, go holy 100%! Night fae is amazing with both mobility and helping with migration!
In Organized groups do disc shine tho!
No, this is the recipe for oom disaster.
To simplify, Discipline Priests casts Power Word: Radiance upon pull to give every party member Atonement, which then heals the party when the Priest does damage. A killed trash pack should leave the group at high to full health unless party members are ignoring mechanics and getting spanked.
There are also other spells beneficial spells that can be cast individually on party members to add/renew their Atonement, but the details on what spells is best depends on covenant and legendaries.
Make a organised group better, but makes a unorganized group worse, or so they say.
