Primary stats. What are they?

Need some clarification on this.

I know that strength, agility and intellect exists, but ever since I’ve used Stronger Together/Combined Might azerite trait, I’ve discovered that attack power is also a primary stat (in my protection spec).

I previously thought 1 strength/agility = 1 attack power or 1 intellect = 1 spell power.

How exactly does this system work?

That doesn’t answer my question at all.

I’m asking how the primary stat system works, not how to play warrior.

There is no mention of ap being a primary stat in the wowhead guide. This is probably because strength = ap but then there’s warrior shout which increases your ap by 10%. I think you’re better off moving this topic to the warrior subforum though since they should have more knowledge of this.

To move a topic you edit the first post and there’s an option to move it the the right sub forum with a drop down.

I’m imagining that agility and intellect are working the same way.
Chances of an answer are bigger here.

Alright then. Let’s start at the beginning. Where did you pick up ap was a primary stat?

This is what I thought as well, but in that case why does Stronger Together/Combined Might grant me 400 attack power instead of 400 strength? It claims to increase my primary stat (or secondary).

Your abilities have a chance to plant a banner representing an Alliance race for 10 sec, granting you and up to 4 allies 403 of their primary stat or 371 of a secondary stat.

Are you sure it’s not granting you 400 strength? Now I think the important part here is checking if your abilities scale on attack power or if the strength values are involved somewhere. I’m quite sure it’ll only be attack power.

You could also ask a friend if they’re getting a primary stat or only the spell power or attack power bonus.
