This pet was made available in Taiwan before Cataclysm released. It was made available to western players in MoP.

This pet was available for a limited time to players in Taiwan when they prepay for a certain amount of World of Warcraft game time prior to March 4, 2010.

As of Patch 5.4.1, this pet is now a reward from the Recruit-A-Friend system in regions outside of Asia.

As of June 11, 2019, the Recruit-A-Friend program was put on hiatus, making this pet unavailable. It’s unknown if and when this pet will be made available again.

The recolors show a few similar pets, like the Jade Tiger which was a Chinese promotion later making it in as a RAF reward, or the Onyx Panther which was a Korean promotion and apparently never released on the EU/US servers.
