PRIORITY QUEUE - Solo Shuffle

For every 2 Solo Shuffles I play as a Healer, give me 1 Solo Shuffle priority(instant) queue as DPS.

This will incentivise DPS players to create & play healers in shuffles and lead to a higher bracket participation.

I’d much rather switch between playing Healer and DPS and get instant queues everytime, than just play DPS only and sit 20min queues.

Bandaid fix.
Here’s what needs to happen.

  • Cap dampening at 30%.
  • Buff non-Disc healers
  • Remove the GCD from Soothing Mist

There, healers are queuing again.

A) Just remove dampening ALL of it. Put mana regen dampening instead. 1 match will last maximum 5 minutes because healers will go OOM with the damage we have currently.

B) And stabilize rating gains/losses so that its not 1 loss -70 rating, then 10 games in a row 3/3 and 0 rating gain. Then 1 win for 7 rating.

Not a rewarding experience to climb.

And before anyone explains once again what MMR does: Dont care. All I care is rating because that is the number that gives me (and everyone else) a sense of progression and satisfaction.

BOOM. Now its fun to play as healer and they come back in droves.

This but you need to win at least 3 matches out of 6, to prevent people just afking on healers. Or make it for every 10 wins

Disagree with this proposal.

Just make healing not be such a painful process at ratings bellow 2400 and were good.

This idea would force people to make a healer to play. Because for you DPS to get an instant pop, someone else needs to wait double that time.

So people with out a healer will be at a disadvantage.

Its not fair for the game to force you to play a specific spec (that’s why balancing exists) let alone a class, let alone a roll. Its a NO GO ZONE.

If you guys are so keen on making yourselves a healer, and are willing to go through the pain then do it. You have instant queues.

The reason you haven’t done it already, its because its not satisfactory/attractive for you.

So what Blizz needs to do to fix the issue is to make healing attractive in the first place. Then you might even re-roll healer completely.

And non-Druids.

RSS needs mmr fixing for real played like 5 games won 4/0 got 0 rating

Interesting. I didn’t really foresee this topic would get that much disapproval. For the record, I do play both Healer and DPS in solo shuffles, but I’m on the verge of quitting playing DPS because I just can’t stand those 20min queues and don’t really have any healer friends who are commited enough to play 2s/3s consistently.

For the last few weeks I’ve been just queueing skirmishes on my DPS chars because I cba to wait 20min for queue.

Neither do I see the priority queue proposal to be damaging to the most of the “pure dps” playerbase…their queue wait times will most likely be the same as they are now. Whereas the players who wish to compromise and play both healer and dps specs will get queues instantaneously.

Don’t get me wrong, I love solo shuffle. But being punished to wait 20 minutes for a game just because you play a DPS spec is unacceptable. Some of your responses refer to fairness, but how is it fair to get an instant queue as a Healer and wait 20 minutes in a queue as a DPS?

Edit: Still believe this idea is golden. Make the ratio whatever you want - 5x shuffles as a healer = 1x instant shuffle as a DPS. Don’t tell me this idea is that bad or destructive? Repost this topic to your friends, get us some attention going and let me know your opinion.

Priority queue is the worst idea ever. Would lead to tons of bad healser trying to get prio for mains. And tons of bad dps trying to spend their earned prio.

If you play healer then you know why there are so few to begin with.

Right now, there are a ton of people that quit playing healer and prefer to wait 20 min as a dps and come here to the forums to complain of wait times. And believe me, there are more people like that than your case, which is the reverse.

The only way to get those dps to heal again is to make it as rewarding as playing dps. Otherwise it wont fix the problem.

Queue times for non-priority dps would be longer, yes. Also, each time someone with priority joined the queue they would get pushed.

But most of all, the priority idea is just wrong. Do you feel that you are making some kind of sacrifice when you queue healer? Do you not like to heal, but do it because of some sense of altruism?
Or do you just play healer because you enjoy healing?
Some rewards for healers to incentivize them to queue SS is a good idea. But displacing non healers and making them low prio participants, which is essentially what the prio idea would do, would do more harm than good to the general player base.

They should just make this a thing for 1-2 months and see how it goes. Sounds good.

They just need to adjust the meta, where it’s not the right play to say “let’s focus healer, he’s bad zugzug”, and then you have a newbie healer getting spear of bastionned into death, i.e. nerf DH/Warriors/DK mobility, and cc

Remove the healers from SS, problem solved. In pre patch we had 2 tanks 4 dps and queues were popping and everyone was having a great time. You lost? No problem, there was another chance almost under 1 minute to play another arena
Now you are in queue 20 mins, another 20 in game and most likely 3/6 score, how is this better?

So nothing changes except more people will play and try other role? Thats nice

Leave dampening as it is. Put a PvP modifier for grievous wounds, turning them to 0 in solo shuffle.

Ehhhh… no thanks!

Why do I have to be penalized? How about we do something:

Put a -80% damage buff at the start and let it ramp up until you do full damage. Would that not be nice?

Let the dps play a nerfed out version of their spec instead of healers.

NO.

Dampening was put in place in a time where healers had infinite mana and could heal for ever. That is why dampening exists.

But that created issues in PvE because healers with infinite mana meant that they only used their quick inefficient heals in their toolkit. No thought involved.

So they changed that. Now healers do NOT have infinite mana in PvE and have to think about using slow but efficient heals, or go nuts with fast but inefficient heals.

PvP on the other hand has stayed 10 years late. And now, with the insane damage dps do, were stuck here with this dampening “tradition” that does not make sense anymore.

Either you lower down damage across the board and keep dampening. Or remove dampening and keep the damage. Healers WILL run out of mana (FYI: In PvE we all have 10k/5s mana regen, while in arenas its nerfed to 4k/5s). So its already in place by the way.

Cheers!

It’s painful bro, had a small losing streak, played today went 5-1 - gained 30 rating, went 1-5 lost 70 rating, went 5-1 gained 40, went 1-5, lost 70, went 3-3 lost 40. so because of a small losing streak the night before I lost 140 rating instead of it just being 0 or close too. feels bad man

Cool idea with prio q. Something we had in OW 1 and it worked fine.

If your class doesn’t have a healer spec, you can always lvl one.
About griefing games to get a faster ticket : make a restriction that you have to win 6 rounds in summary to get a ticket - problem solved.

I’m not against the idea of lowering the damage. I find myself going back watching videos back from mop pvp to try and understand how pvp was so good back then and what i end up finding is always the same… dps don’t one shot or do 50k dps and healers don’t top of people with 1 cd.
I’d totally be down to increase mana loss and nerf both damage and healing in PvP.
