hello, I’ve stumbled upon a extreme amount of bots farming “The BOTanica” most of them are on EU-Saurfang and EU-Aszune it seems, but there’s a few on other servers aswell… I’ve also reported it to Hacks@Blizzard.com, I found 2 bot guilds aswell with 46 to 50 DHs in each guild, 1 on Draenor and 1 on Tarren Mill, ask me for more details if youre interested.

As you noted, this dungeon is indeed called the BOTanica. The reason they’re all going here is because the dungeon is super short and drops a metric ton of gold.
It is unclear why the dungeon hasn’t been nerfed as a source of gold. It is unclear if Blizzard are setting it up as a honeytrap. Blizzard claims to be banning thousands of bots every day, but it is unclear if that’s true or just a giant pile of BS. It feels like a giant pile of BS so far.
Just about everybody knows this is taking place. Just about everyone with a brain and knowledge of this can deduce that the gold farming and gold hacking and private gold selling hasn’t stopped despite the addition of the WoW token.
This has been going on for the last 12 years, and it got even worse in Legion due to the addition of the hilariously fast Demon Hunter, which also happens to be even better at Botanica.
I don’t know what has to be said or done before this problem is taken care of. It’s so blindingly obvious it should be possible to write a detection algorithm in a day.
Yes it is. You can’t name and shame people like this. Blur their names and edit the original post to remove that link you said. It’s not worth it. If you sent it to Hacks@blizzard.com and made in game ticket. That’s all you can do. Unless you are a celebrity on twitter and reddit and can get 500+ tweets in the devs’ face for a more direct and fast answer.

I’m simply reporting bots and trying to bring more attention upon the current botting issue, I dont think anyone reading this forum post would make a character on one of the servers mentioned and pick out “1 dude” out of the 80+ DH names in one of the screenshots.
Under “Harassing or Defamatory” it says " Harassment takes many forms, and is not necessarily limited to the type of language used, but the intent. Repeatedly targeting a specific player with harassment can lead to more severe action. The idea behind this is to prevent any one player from consistently being uncomfortable in the forums"
“Repeatedly targeting a specific player with harassemnt” …I’m not targeting a specific player trying to make people harass them, I just want to make people aware of the bots I stumbled upon and hopefully bring more attention to this issue.

These are literally bot accounts created only for that purpose. Nobody knows who they are, and they have no real identity to speak of. This is a bot account, not a normal player that’s botting sometimes.
He’s technically in the wrong but like… come on. I know, I know…
Gold is an issue atm , so the multiboxers and bots have to pay for x number of accounts , i’m not suprised , nothing sells on ah .
Raw gold is king atm .
this is older than the internet. Bots have been farming this for about a decade now. I certainly saw a lot of them in this instance and Halls of Lightning too.
Is the daily limit of instances active on retail too? That 30 instances per day? Or is it only classic affair? Because this solves much of the dungeon botting problem. They hit the cap in 3 hours and the remaining 21 is useless. Reduces their gold farming capability by 80%.
I believe the instance limit only applies for classic wow sadly I think they should have a team that’s actively looking for bots instead of “punishing” the playerbase by putting limits on things like that
I think they can fix all dung and old raids bots farming in few hours without any mass-ban or reports waiting, but seems like this issue not on their prior list.
