Hi
a guild mate has recently returned to the game & he used his level 60 boost on his main
I don’t know (& he doesn’t know/doesn’t remember) whether he didn’t get portalled to Oribos or hearthed out but he seems to have skipped the option to pick his covenant & we can’t figure out how to fix it (he wants to fly in shadowlands but to do that he needs to some storyline content as well as get level 44 covenant)
I have suggested that he open a ticket for it but maybe we’re missing something really obvious
thank you
You choose your covenant in Oribos, if the portals aren’t available from Org/SW then you can get a mage to give you a portal there.
The 60 boost would normally put you in Oribos. Flying in Shadowlands is unlocked via your campaign.

Unfortunately my guild mate is a bit frustrating to try and communicate with. He’s only been back about 3 weeks but wouldn’t be able to tell you what he’s done so far.
He is at level 60 and said he used a boost. So its been pointed out to me that the boost with shadowlands is only to 50 & I’m not sure if he’s paid for the 60 post or just grinded with another guildie until he got to 60.
He doesn’t have a portal to Oribos , we did a warlock summon and got him to set his hearthstone to the inn.
I don’t think he’s played since WoD and I remember reading last week that sometimes not doing the intro quests for legion can cause issues. I’ll maybe try and get him to go to Org and see if there’s any quests (although we’ve trapped him in Shadowlands facepalm)
Ah yes if it’s the boost that came with the game it would have been level 50 and your friend will need to do the expansion intro questline (starts in Orgrimmar, takes you to Icecrown, then to the Maw), get to Oribos and level through the storyline. Threads of Fate levelling is not available for a first character. I would advise sticking to the main storylines through the four zones and not getting distracted with side quests.
If he’s done the grind to 60 but skipped all of Shadowlands to do it I’m not sure where that would leave him. The game is mostly based around your main doing everything and then it eases up what you need to do on alts. The 60 boost is much newer but that does include things like being able to jump straight into end game content.
Your friends quest log should have some indication on it what the game expects him to do next. This is an alt of mine which is on ‘Threads of Fate’ but the principle is the same. The bit at the top should tell you what is needed to advance.
It could be that your friend has done part of it or none of it. Most of us capped 60 before finishing the storyline quest chain through the four zones on our first character. With any luck they have done some of it, worst case they need to do all of it.
Thank you
I’ll have to ask him more questions
I asked him what quests he had in quest log and got “nuthin” and then “just pvp”
