Since the launch of 9.1 the Touch of Death ability has not been working correctly. It does not allow use when an enemy has lower health than the monk, but rather when the enemy has considerably less health than the monk.
This is most noticeable in Torghast where I can build up my HP to about 200k before using fortifying brew. I cannot ToD enemies with less than 200k HP and when using FB and over 1.1 million HP (after buffs and FB use) I still need to bring enemies down to approximately 2/3 HP before ToD will work. Even then, it has been acting up, allowing ToD to be applied to an enemy when it won’t kill it. I may have missed patch notes saying this change was happening but if I did, I can’t find it, therefore I must assume it is a bug.
Other than that, I’m enjoying patch 9.1 and am pleased with my recent return to WoW
I want to confirm that this is an issue and absolutely infuriating to put up with. I haven’t tested ToD in Torghast yet but my PvE experience is as follows:
I like to farm as Brewmaster. Sitting at about 55K health. ToD functions as it normally should ONLY when my total health is higher than the remaining health of the enemy. However, ToD lights up AND CAN BE USED outside of the 2 normal conditions (remaining health or < 15% total health). Example: The mob can be at 80% health, have over 100K hp left and ToD becomes clickable.
Normally I’d say it’s great, but if you use it outside it’s normal conditions its damage is SIGNIFICANTLY lowered! It might do 10-15K damage instead of 55K and it goes on cooldown.
So now I have to manually watch the total enemy health before I fire off ToD or I waste my DPS cooldown as BrM.
The bug is very visible and any and all monk players should have noticed it on day 1 of the patch. Feels like we are being neglected unless there is a bug which actually benefits us. That gets fixed fast.
Yep, same problem but while in Torghast only, from what I can tell it seems to be when a mob has somewhere between 15-20k hp, while my base hp is 35k.
As you’ve already mentioned, getting any hp increase powers doesn’t change the ToD threshold at all for me, i’ve had 115k hp with the fort brew power and still couldn’t ToD until the mob had 20k hp.
If you think that’s a pain as WW imagine it as a MW, most of the time it’s my top damage spell due to how poor the rest of are.
