Can’t decide profs for my main hunter. There will be huge competition for ores sadly. Skinning + lw looks nice as hunter can solo high levels most likely but I know engineering will be amazing. What to do here take the competition?
Rogue main - Going skin/lw for a start and switch skin for engineering later on, with first alt being a hunter with skinning/mining purely for farming mats.
My favorite farm in the endgame was enchanting&herbalism as a rogue so closing in on the max level I will make a second rogue purely for the goldfarm.
I think if I was playing hunter main I would do the exact same and still use a hunter farmer for my hunter main ![]()
Imho I would not rush into crafting professions early as this can still be Classic and you can just find one that can craft what you need.
A lot will go Engineering, especially for PvP, while hunters get also guns from it for leveling.
You could think about mining/herbalism for top greed and in the end farming lotus and rich thorium veins at 60.
What competition? For two first weeks and level 25? Majority of dad gamers will pump 1 character and then go to vacations and it will be quite on SoD in a month till the next mini-phase drops around mid/end of January I suppose.
If you are lazy level up skinning and LW.
If you are patient herbalism+alchemy
Finally you can go engeneering and mining.
The current known loot that require 100 leatherworking , 100 blacksmith etc. isn’t really convincing.
For me, professions will start making a difference at higher levels 35+
I would like to take this opportunity for a quick question regarding alchemy, it has been confirmed that new recipes will be brought to the professions? And if so, any clue if in alchemy recipes for bombs or molotov cocktails would be implemented? It could have been fun.
I’m wondering if the Deadly Blunderbuss will be a good moneymaker for this first phase Horde side. Or will the different loot devalue the specific item? The blues from the quest reward will be harder to obtain for non pet characters unless they group up so it may not be worth the effort for anyone other than primarily solo players.
Skinning and gathering in general will be the main source for gold.
Many players will not waste any mats and guilds will raid 30+ zones just for high level mats and BoE to make gold and prepare for phase 2.
Imo, the rewards in BfD and Ashenvale PvP are good enough, we don’t really need the known BiS Gear from trash or RfK with 25.
Hunter and Open PVP = I choose engineering.
