Profession Help - Leatherworking

Hello.
So i started a new profession, Leatherworking and i have noticed that you can’t speed to max level (100) like with Tailoring unless you use Sparks.
I am currently level 67, and i am in Valdrakken, so i got the 5 free Sparks of Ingenuity.
And after doing some wowhead digging i found that both Season 1 and Season 2 sparks are no longer farmable. So all i am left with is the Season 3 sparks, Spark of Dreams.
I also know that to get 1 Spark of Dreams, you have to do the 2 weeks worth of Emerald Dream weekly quests. And i would use the Sparks on myself for high level gear, and not for some random thing.
Also i would need a gazzillion of sparks for the “First Craft” thing, to get more profession talent points… so i would’nt waste Sparks of Dream on this either…

Anyway…

After using up the 5 free Sparks of Ingenuity, my leatherworking skill is stuck at 76 out of 100 and the only way i found to get to 100 is to craft armor that uses Sparks… so i will have to use Sparks of Dreams …8 in total. …so thats 16 weeks …

Now, i know that i could use the crafting order and the Spark problem will go away, BUT my crafting quality is not 5-star but rather 3-4-star, so i doubt people will be pleased if i craft for them a low quality item.

Anyway…

My questions are as follows:
-How to level my leatherworking skill faster without Sparks, is there even a way?
-Will player be super upset if i craft them lower quality items (3-4 star and not 5-star) ?
-How to farm profession talent points faster? (i already know about the weekly +15 points, monthly darkmoon fair +5 points, the first craft thing, the 1 time item loots from around the dragon isle, and grandmaster one)

Kinda OT, but make sure to do the Darkmoon Faire profession quests come this Sunday for those valuable skill increments when you hit that ceiling of leveling it.

Thank you sooo much, indeed the best way to get to max profession level if you can only level with Sparks, is to use alts and their Sparks.

Do you have an alt? Leveling is fast, so you could level them and get the free 5 sparks. Or you can do it like me and camp the public orders for hours

If they bothered to ask in trade chats they will absolutetly be upset. Everyone expects max crafts nowadays. Public crafts not really, I mean its gamble anyway and most of them are aware. I got some whispers to recraft for max, but once I said I couldnt they dropped it.

Sometimes the PvP recipes can bridge a gap, or spending knowledge points in the right place. I never used sparks to level any of mine.

You can pick the PvP recipes up on the AH if you don’t PvP yourself.

You can level an alt and use their sparks.

You can use your own sparks to craft a lower version of the item you want for yourself then get it recrafted by someone that can get it to your wanted Ilvl (this will make you spend a bit more gold on mats but then you can use your own sparks)

Is there a good guide on Leatherworking?
I just want to level it and maybe make some gear for alts. Not fussed about making gold.
I’ve not really looked at it yet this expansion as it just seems too convoluted. So a simple guide. It doesn’t need to be fast, if it involves Darkmoon Faire etc. that’s fine.

Saying that I didn’t level it in SL either but that was more a case of CBA…
I probably should find a guide for that too and just do it.

Searh youtube for Penguin2gt videos, she really nicely explains all about DF professions.

Darkmoon Faire . for last few levels

or spend sparks for guildmates to level up

I dont think PvP recipes can take LW to 100. Might be wrong

It helps if you get stuck with levelling, I’m not entirely sure whether it caps you.

There are also one-time treasures in Loamm, Zaralek Cavern and in the Emerald Dream, if you don’t already know.
Also collecting Disturbed Dirt chests give you 2 points each week. Occationally those chests also contain Dragon Shard Knowledge, that can be handed in to Khadin in the cave in Maruukai, for 1 point.

Been a while since I levelled my leatherworker up. I overcame some of the obstacles by purchasing recipes off the AH and some reputation locked ones help too. I also did the Darkmoon profession quests to help. Finally I prayed to rngesus that I would get dragonshards of knowledge which can sometimes push up the skill tree to learn a new recipe that could help too.

Generally the professions changes were good but in certain areas they are very poorly executed and having no catchup mechanism has been painful.
