Profession tables are a BAD idea

it was always awful that blacksmiths and engineers needed to use anvils and that miners needed a forge to smelt. this problem was lessened with the introduction of thermal anvils and especially with the Alvin the Anvil pet. yet in Dragonflight blizzard attempted to add tables to every profession and it proved to be an absolutely awful decision
now we’re in a new expansion and… we’re still doing that? wasn’t the overwhelmingly negative feedback and absolute complete lack of even the slightest bit of positive feedback something of a clue? most parts of the game split the playerbase but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anythning even remotely positive about those tables mentioned anywhere

why not just have one NPC or table for all work orders for all professions and let all personal crafting be done anywhere (you know, like it was for almost two whole decades with zero problems or complaints). forcing people to constantly have to visit the capital city is not an effective way to make it look populated, nor is it even a sensible thing to do. if everyone is hanging out in the capital that just suggests to players that there is nothing interesting to do out in the world and that’s not a great message to give players
