Professions are too much complicated

I admit I am lowly casual oldtimer with sentimental issues.
I remember when WOW was welcoming for new players without any experiance.
This new crafting system is so much complicated for me to get into that I prefer just to gather and sell mats at AH. The UI is scary and overworked.
It is wrong you have to find guides on what to do. I want to have fun not to study such complex system…

You have to just remember these following pointers:

The rarity of the materials can also increase the final product’s quality.
Once you can unlock specializations, ignore guides and go for what you think is fun. Each tree has a small intro and also a preview that you can inspect what it gives you.

To gain KP (Knowledge points) for the above specializations, you generally need to find rare treasures, “discover” it through “first crafts” or other things itself and so on. I also just craft what I like and am proceeding at my own pace.

I get that it is a huge leap from classic but as a casual, I do not mean the word as an insult, I am quite casual when it comes to professions myself, you shouldn’t really worry about min/maxing. Each tree has a short summary in game. I agree that it is a fair bit more complex than classic era, but taking a few mins to read the text (I am referring to in-game stuff, not some online guide) tends to be enough to do the profession.

I am maining engineering myself and I for-goed guides, and it’s been fun exploring the new note system c: I highly advise it!

Cooking is the crazy profession in this expac.

The main issues of Craftin I would say is:

1: Waaay too much diffrent qualities on mats. Just make all mats 1 rank, but increase the “amount” needed to craft stuff.

2: Should simplyfi the Craftin specialization by removing all specializations and create a “talent” tree like our talents, but with like 3 rows.

Exempel: ARMOR - MATS - WEAPONS and you can go left, middle or right.

This above would remove the most frustrating stuff about crafting…

for example: Duskweave for gloves is 8 dustweave. But make it 100 duskweave but the mats is still 1 rank only…

BUT For me I dont find the profession that complicated, its just stupid and annoying to find the max-tier mats and then craft by it…

@Blizz, this man speaks great truths!

It is much better now. The classic crafting was mindbending dumb.

And if you don’t like it, don’t do it.
Me too I don’t do things I don’t like in WoW.

I relly like the new systems over the old. Much more depth to it.

II was going to create a thread about the same topic.
Professions are too much complicated. I’ve been discouraged and unlearned them, Blizzard made this professions system so annoying and twisted.
I find this system has decent things but I prefer the old one.
I think is the way to go in many ways but it is too bad executed in reality.
I remember people crying about complexity in pressing one keyboard key macro to change talents load outs in mythics+ and now you have these kind of systems in the game that looks taken out from a comedy movie that people looks to enjoy, this community is a joke

Imo I just want to see more knowledge points per week
I don’t want my profession to be an expansion long “”“journey”“”
I like the concepts of it but that part I hated in DF
I just stop caring after 2 seasons of not missing any knowledge and still being only halfway to having the trees filled out

Really disappointed to learn that specialisation points cant be refunded after spending them. Blizzard have never made anything ‘talent’ like un-respeccable before. So I’m stuck with points that I no longer want/need for this entire expansion now? This sucks =[

From what I understand we still don’t have a catchup coming out of DF, all the worst elements of professions added in DF are still present or worse; doubled down on

I think I’m just going to do absolute bare minimum to get all plans for transmog and just not care about professions beyond that
I don’t want to grind profession knowledge until the end of the expansion again, especially considering they reduced the amount of knowledge granting quests for crafting and still havn’t gotten in a catchup and still have way too many quality outcomes on gear (3 is enough you don’t need 5 levels)
