Im ilvl 470, been playing since february, my waist is ilvl 460, pants ilvl 475.
I finally got Shred of insanity 200/200 and finished all my dailies, and didnt have energy to grind BG anymore for essence.
So… I had a thought of leveling my blacksmithing up since I saw some cool waist ilvl 470 crafted a guy in m+15 dungeon had with us.
So about 8h and 60k gold later I get my blacksmithing up to 175, and I realize I need to start with crafting a 410 item that gets slowly upgraded with a ton of mats… ok I start getting mats… many hours later:
Required: restored abyssal focus.
wtf… I need 75 MANAPERLS to even make this item?
Then I google follow-up…
I need to spend 2 months at least in Eternal Palace farming mats???
To get like ilvl 445???
What is this?
What do I do with blacksmithing in 8.3?
I will literally get 10 characters to ilvl 475 and be full epic in Shadowlands before Im gonna be able to create one singe ilvl 470 in BFA.
And why is this game so alt unfriendly - how am I even supposed to dream of also getting alchemy trinket on my mage??

Does it sound like im AFK? Do you know how long it takes to grind 200 shreds of insanity alone?
Do you know how long it takes to complete 5 mask horrific vision (470 item) or m+15 dungeon in comparison? (465chest and 475 weekly chest)
It would be literally more worthwhile to unsub from this game for 2 months and come back join a mythic guild and get a 475 drop that can also corrupt than to grind 1 month manaperls and 2 months of some raid drops just to get ilvl 440…
doesnt make any sense for a 470 item. If it was 490 I would have some insentive, but rly not tho. Queues to Eternal Palace probably like eternity already since nobody cares for them anymore.
Eh, I should know better since I am a BS wearing these items, but… there should be no Eternal Palace involved. Get the plans for Unsettling Osmenite Girdle, I think it’s a rather high drop rate in mini visions. Craft it, learn the next version in the process, craft it, learn the final version, craft it. And do the same for the legplates.
This does not involve any manapearls. The only BoP material is Expulsom. And, it seems you get some of the Expulsom back when you scrap these items - ideally the ones you crafted on your way to learning the 470 versions.
You don’t need to farm previous tier items to craft new ones.
Simply raise your blacksmithing level to the required one, then go farm mobs in the mini visions, they should drop you a recipe to craft a low ilvl belt / leg, and to upgrade them you need to finish the shreds of insanity which you already did.
