The profiling addon seems to have been turned back on. My frames went from 220fps on monday to 60 on tuesday, please give us an option to turn it off.
I’m shocked there’s already three or more custom user addons for this and how each one of them unlike Blizzard’s oversimplified solution provides CPU activity display in real time including other bonus features.
More importantly, they all have a button to start and stop the measuring on demand while this abomination which was thrust upon us permanently runs in the background. Over the previous month many users have provided proof that turning the process off completely results with significant boost and to in-game performance and client stability.

Blues have come to a conclusion that Profiler does not decrease performance, yet somehow the whole of wow community is claiming the opposite. Even my own game runs like a dumpster set on fire ever since the temporary fix to this problem has been disabled with the new patch.
For full context and details about this, please see this post:
“In our examinations, the Profiler did not contribute to decreased performance.”
Ah allright so all the people reporting disabling it and reenabling it causes fps drop or stuttering consistently (i believe there was also video proof of this) are lying?
Wow this is some next level of customer support.
Denying issue and forcing feature to send statistical data without ability to disable it at heavy performance cost, now i wonder if this is even legal in EU, because all apps i have seen having this had querry whenever i want to send this and if i agree to it.
I’ve tried what some guy over on US said; I can’t remember anymore if it is from the linked thread or some other game lag related discussion, but whenever I hover my cursor back and forth over the game menu icon down in the right corner (red questionmark?), my FPS instantly tanks from locked 140 by some 50% or more for a brief moment. I’m not even running weakauras or damage meters, only some superlight addons which provide less than 2% stress on my CPU.
Sure, it is spiking because it needs to update display information, but saying how an active process showed no negative impact of any kind on the performance of the game as whole sounds very insincere, and this is coming from the same QA team who you can thank for pages of customer complaints on the forums.
Even on outdated hardware, the expansion was mostly stable and the game was performing satisfactory over the last six months (maybe apart from center of Dornogal and Ovinax raid boss), but something had changed with Undermine patch which had negatively impacted gameplay in dungeons and raids.
If it is not the Profiler, what is it? I’ve been checking out some community faces on youtube lately and you know what they were all suggesting to their viewers? -to import a weakaura script which would temporarily disable this thing for an immediate noticeable improvement.
What have they been saying since Wednesday or better do they have anything new to show you right now? They do, video recordings of their rigs suddenly running the Undermine raid at 15 FPS.
An addendum to first paragraph; instead of hovering over the menu icon, hold cursor over the questionmark and look around or try strafing with your character, you’ll observe regular intervals of intense stuttering. This can help you understand what’s actually going on in the background during intense combat.
This guy will provide you with the briefest summary of what’s going on, with recorded gameplay included.
