Profitability

Dear Blizzard I have some suggestions for you to improve the situation at the same time.
The expansion you released is amazing but it has some small bugs all the time.
Let’s take a look at probably the most important bug that you have not yet understood or failed to implement in the game. And yet the fix for that bug is right at your fingertips.

It’s going to be a long story.
So let’s sit back and have a cup of coffee, tea or a nice glass of whiskey.
Why not?
Because I’m not here today to refute your opinion or anyone on this forum.
I’m just here today to suggest changes and please let’s engage our imaginations together and not try to refute everything to hallelujah.

The biggest problem overall is Blizzard’s long term approach to the community and that’s in terms of our time.
Surely we all know the legendary line, “Time is money friend!”

To get to the point let’s remember that catchphrase and how we got there.

The gaming community is divided into many types of gamers.
From newbies going through their first adventures under the pressure of all the mechanics and big bosses, not knowing where to jump in first, to everyone yelling at them to do it this way and that way.

To the pet collectors who want to have every little rabbit in their collection. And they can bypass the hardest puzzles in the game to get them.

To the mount collectors who for years after work turn on the PC and go determined to bully one boss with all their characters for the millionth time in an attempt to get the most valuable thing.

And here we come to the prize.
… And I haven’t even told you about the passionate heroes of Azeroth, who with a finger up their nose can defeat any boss on mythic difficulty or win any duel.
Bone collectors, plant collectors, resource collectors.
But we’d be here for a long time.
Simply put, everybody has a valuable item in the game that they want to pursue.
And for most of us, that puts a lot of pressure on us.
Over the years, we’ve built up an interest in exploring and acquiring all that the game has to offer.
Don’t get me wrong.
But really, each of us is a bit of a collector.
And yes there are exceptions like players who just want to see that drop and high item level and just go mythic over and over again.

And here we find the problem.
Not all of us have the time to spend on WoW, and times are changing.
There comes a sense of wasting a lot of time and a lot of stuff. A lot of things are slipping away like water and we never have a chance to get them anymore.
Unfortunately this is the biggest mistake you guys have made so far for me.
You’ve given people plenty of chances to get something exclusive over the years, so you’ve taught the community to rush.
Running to the front and not looking past anything not because they don’t want to but because they have to.

Some people only have time two days a week.
And someone plays all day every day after work or school.

Many things are no longer profitable and people don’t even have time to enjoy the whole story of the game, get different titles or achievements because older content doesn’t attract anyone. But why ?

Surely it can be done so that we can get all these things back …maybe not exactly the same value and with an indication by the name, title and so on that it is an item acquired now and not in the times of expansion a few years ago.

How do we do that?
Let’s break down a few categories and explanations of how this could be done.
And we’ll start with PvP achievements, which will outline how it would work for other things.

Many of us immediately realize that it would be stupid to get the achievement of a gladiator from the MoP era, for example.
And I’ll tell you why it’s not stupid and how it could be done.
Blizzard knows how to do a Season leaderboard. After all, they have experience from Diablo or WoW.
They also have experience with reputation, which can be built up over time, even in other expansions, but we’ll get to that later.
Why I’m talking about reputation is simple.
Because I remember it was possible and apparently still is if memory serves.

For timewalking exchange currency for reputation.
Be able to choose which one and make it for the past timewalking.
Which is nice, but what does that have to do with achievements?
How about being able to, for example, once every month or two …or some other time range (preferably anytime!) to choose that my character will be at the end of a season that won’t be linked to the main datadisc but will count for pvp in it. Thus, we will be able to indulge in the fun of the current datadisc undisturbed, and if that doesn’t work out at any time we can continue trying for the next expansion and the last one would be connected to this system when the next one comes out. So everyone in the current expansion would be able to proudly show their title muscles for a year and the others would just wait and the achievement of the best PvP player could be earned back.
It would fit the concept of time-walking beautifully.

Well then what to do with raids ?going back in time for dungeons we already have which is timewalking itself.
And why not make a weekly table of the best raid groups on old raids ? There would be a scale of players against the raid and all week players could walk a certain raid they already know from the past and at the end of the week they would all get some reward in the form of an achievement and a small reward to make up for it in the form of gold or some other item that is possible to get in the game by classic play + for example a completely random chance to get a tcg mount or other mounts in the game.
Thus the old raids would be revived and a lot of people would have fun and not only guilds, but maybe just leveling players and casual players.

Mounts in game.
This is a very difficult topic.
But we know very well that you can’t just get a tcg spectral like that with a drop.
But what if there was a possibility to get such mounts just by completely random drop in game from timewalking ? The odds would have to be set damn low but some would certainly be better than none for most of us.

Such a mount could be properly modified to not be like the original.
And for the very reason that it could involve timewalking it could randomly disappear in time and leave the player for a while hence would be just for show. And why not. In which case it wouldn’t be able to be summoned again for some random amount of time. For example 30 minutes to an hour and disappearing randomly in time… it would be fun to see who would be luckier and last longer on their mount. And it wouldn’t have to be just the spectral tiger at all, but other very hard to get mounts as well.

Professionals from past expansions could gain scale and thus be useful not only in other activities but also in the present time.

Thank you for your attention. And I hope you manage to grasp “time walking” in all directions of the game. So that we can walk into the game at any time and know that we haven’t missed anything. And to have our way of playing the way we want to play so that we can come back to the game whenever we like.

This way you would be able to achieve even bigger sales for a giant game like World of Wrarcraft, and people would pay gametime all the time… they wouldn’t always have to leave every time there is a bad expansion (bad for them because it has nothing to offer because of certain changes), and they could devote themselves to such side activities.
In addition, important quest lines of the main storyline of each expansion could be incorporated to let newcomers know what’s going on.

It seems to me that this is exactly what someone there and yours at Blizzard has been trying to do for a while. But he’s not getting away with it or it’s hard to implement. So if I’m right, at least admit it.

Thank you for your time, and surely all of you who have read this far, don’t forget to leave your suggestions for how such a system could work in the “reply” section.

I also want to warn anyone who gets annoyed by this post or feels the need to write that it is pointless to please act like they never read this post.
