At the moment WoW is dead game for alts, can’t be bothered to have a single one because the cloak is the most important item and not just level 15, but maxed out corruption resistance. Without it, no point playing. Literally … if you do not have resistance maxed out to have for example 8x +12% mastery on mage… you do not play mage. Not in 20+ keys or mythic raids if you wanna compete with others. Thus … ONE OF THE EASY FIXES THAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN!

Like … I started playing in march (again) and I sooooooo want to make every class in the game. But why would I. Even if I tryhard and kill nzoth every week and do visions I will still need like 3 months, most likely more to catch up. That makes no sense.
OR! DO NOT LIMIT it to just 1 malefic core from visions and 1 from nzoth. Make it drop from mythics, make it drop from PvP or make it farmable OR make it drop 3-4 if you always do 5 masks.
BUT GIVE US ALTS!

Would also be okay, if all we had to do was getting cloak to rank 15 on our alts. Grind the story a bit, visions, let’s call it “put some effort in it” but at rank 15 we would automatically get the resistance as our main does.
the catchup we have now is fine to some extent, exept a big but, it is to expencive meening you can not catch up at all, becuse you literaly can not get enough visions to catch up at all, combine this whit echoes, that just is to hard to some extent to get, considering what you can do on an alt, becuse if you want to get 4 essences at rank 3 you need 20k echoes already, then combine that whit buying corruption and you are up in arround 50k echoes atleast, this is for an alt an impossible task in any kind of decent time.
to enter a vision should be dropped to 2k or so needed.
echoes for essences dropped to no more than max 500 or so
corruption essences atleast halved the cost.
Fury you obviously don’t get the point we all already ran the marathon. On our mains. I can’t be bothered playing my alt without cape and bis corruptions because I won’t be that di*k slowing people down in keys with under 100k dps And I can’t be bothered spending all my time between work and real life by just farming visions like a nobrainer to play one more char. You need to use your head a little before replying

Absolutely irrelevant answer, so much it’s hard to answer really. What does catch up mechanic have to do with a different game genre I wonder. You just say the first thing that comes to your mind without thinking is all I can say about it. But as you can see with Classic success and Shadowlands changes incoming any type of this grind and borrowed power etc. is disliked by the community and there should simply be just ITEMS. That’s all you should be farming on your alts

We are already worlds champions, why would we have to run it again must of us are not teenagers in their parents house playing video games. Imagine people who got 2 hours to play between work and family to just farm the same sht over and over if they wanna try a different class to still enjoy the game. They will rather quit the game. And that’s exactly what happened this expansion
Do you rember TBC or vannila? In those times alts were nothing but chars to farm some herbs and thats where alts shouls stay. This is not moba where you just swap between character and spam high end content. This mmorpg game and you are supsotu have 1 main char what have all the power to do end game content and alts should be nothing but proffesion farmers with bit of world content.
seems blizz thinks otherwise, becuse had that been the case, we would still be stuck whit what 15 or was it 30 slots to make new chars whit, but they did buff it to 50 and it seems they buff it even more in shadowlands.
You know we now have several layers of gearing up right? Gear itself, essences, cloak itself, corruptions, sockets in gear. And you need to do this on your main and alt if you want to stay competitive. Staying on par with others is much harder now than it is on Classic/was on TBC because it just had 1 top tier raid and thats it. Raid log once a week and you are fine gearwise.
I play this mage as my main after 3 months break and if catchup stays like it is I will catch people resistance-wise in the middle of September no matter what I will do. No matter what effort I put into it because its time-gated. Isn’t farming essences, gear itself (and optimising ita stats) sockets into gear enough work for me? Do we really need timegated cloak resistance which means I will be declined for every higher m+ and doing 30k less dps than other mage with full corruption?
Its the end of expansion for christ sake, let people who tool a break from playing to have some fun, let people who want to play alts have some fun. They will still need to farm gear, essences, tons of echoes of nyalotha to buy corruptions they need but let them use these corruptions.
I do remember it and I also play classic as well and I have alts. Many. All it really took was to level them up (which I enjoy on classic) and then do 2-3 raids with a guild. Voiala full gear. Not bis bis, but enough to be competitive and sometimes IK people with BGs. All in all … enough to swap out characters and have fun in high end content.
no no no, the questline is not a problem. It is boring to do over and over but it is not THE problem. THE problem is the corruption resistance after reaching rank 15. It is crucial if you wanna be at the top and competitive with others and there is too little sources to get it. If you made a fresh alt now it would take you several months to catch up if you did both nzoth and vision. By then there will be Shadowlands. So the whole idea is just bad and needs to be fixed.
Mythics are literally the funniest part of the game atm. Proven by the fact they do eSports on it. It is what most people spam during the day and what most people do as raids usually requiere following schedules etc which is hard to combine with real life for most adults (family, work etc.). Keys are not. You can do them whenever you want. So it should be the obvious source of extra malefic cores.
lolwat. You clearly didn’t play vanilla or TBC. You just had to hit 60 or 70 and then do some dungeons and you were ready to raid. I raided on mage, holy priest and tank druid in TBC. In vanilla I raided on mage, rogue, priest and paladin.
So basically paying subscription is what is needed to be on par right? Because I finished cloak, 12/12 hc and all 15+ m+ 4 months ago with my main. Then I took a break. There were no corruption resistance bonus back then. So its actually my fault not being able to be on par with others because I didn’t pay sub right?
