When are we getting proper flying this dragon bumf makes me dizzy.
I suffer with motion sickness when dragon flying and rely on friends to carry me around or I fly and take frequent breaks sat on the floor while I wait for the nausea to pass.
I wish we could just toggle regular flying on our drakes. It’s a clear disadvantage over anyone using Dragon Riding.
I use all the accessibility options to reduce motion issues but it doesn’t really help. More options are meant to be coming but I have little faith it’s going to help. We’ll soon see.
Same i suffer from motion sickness too it goes my brain just starts to spinning i wish they could add normal flying as an alternative in Nohuk dungeon.
i don’t have your problem but i would have love’d to have no flighing until we could have the use of normal slower mounts, its just a feeling but its like just about every aspect in wow these day’s is about goin faster! then just turn it in to a race game and be done whit it.
Motion sickness aside (sorry chaps I can’t help with that) when they do introduce normal flying, it’s going to feel slow as hell.
Going anywhere will take almost 3 times longer than it currently does.
The speed of flying going forward could be impacted by this expansion.
Either DR will be here to stay and it’s expanded to all mounts in all zones or it’s a huge step back to slow flight when it’s over.
Or they could keep it to the 4 dragons only in all zones, thus rendering folks huge mount collections pretty much useless
I am the same, I have motion sickness mostly when I gather and have to crash land from high altitude, very high speed makes me nauseous. I am not sure Blizzard will address this because it’s intended to have such high speed. For some reason they think this is something good. There will be options to reduce graphics or flashing while at high speed (so I read) but I doubt this will help.
I also can’t do dragon races. Everything becomes blurry in my eyes.
They will allow regular “flying” mounts eventually, but if I was to hazard a guess it wouldn’t be until at least S3. Hopefully the new accessibility options coming will help you out. To be honest, I can understand motion sickness in a VR game, but not this one. Not saying I deny it of course - I just don’t understand.
Hopefully when you get regular flying in DF, the rest of us get dragonriding in older content. Personally I can’t go back to the air swimming mounts at 310% speed. It’s like going from a Ferrari to a golf buggy.
Gaming motion sickness is all about discrepancies between the motion you perceive and the one your senses register (which while gaming should be none). Of course perception varies between people and can be trained, but there are stuff that affect it like camera motion and shaking, field of view, motion blur etc.
Personally I play Sonic the Hedgehog games so high speed is not a problem for me. I do remember getting motion sick in a game that had gravity switching pretty often. In later stages having the screen flip every few seconds made me quite nauseous. And no it wasn’t VR.
I agree that they should add the option now. It makes no difference for those who want to use dragonriding and it makes ALL the difference for those who don’t.
Proper flying? Yeah, I’m curious when I’ll be able to dragonride in old zones too ![]()
and make all other 900 mount useless allur 18 year mount coletion worthless ?
I can´t wait to fly everywhere that would spend less time to arrive to old raids ![]()
For me it can’t come any sooner. My guess is it will be only around about October/November as this would be more or less the time frame of the “pathfinder” that blizzard introduced since WoD. Sucks I know but if enough ppl complain maybe they can move it up faster.
Waiting that long just doesn’t make any sense in this case. People can already fly.
Why does it matter to Blizzard if people fly using method A rather than method B?
It’s just weird that they’re waiting this long. It honestly makes no sense whatsoever.
I don’t mind dragonriding, but I’ll never be able to fly quicker than bronze on the WQ’s. With vision problems where it takes me longer to adjust to what I see, the fast pace of dragonriding just doesn’t feel doable. I can’t process what I see fast enough to be able to pull it off. That is a bit annoying, but I can live with my bronze times and get around the map quicker than I would with regular flying.
I don’t have motion sickness, but I am afraid of heights, and getting some of the glyphs for dragonriding made me feel really sick. I had to take breaks for myself too, not just vigor. If my character falls down from high up in the game I get this rush through my belly and get the feeling I’ll throw up.
My point is, knowing how I respond to ingame heights, I have no issues understanding people get motion sickness.
Fortunately I don’t get it this bad, but sometimes I have to stop playing for around 10 to 20 minutes. It depends on how much turning I do in a long flight session. Some days I’m lucky and I don’t have to stop, other days I need to stop a few times.
I’m no stranger to games making me feel ill, I can’t play most first person games due to nausea. However the dragonflying feature is the first time I experienced it in WoW.
Oddly enough I didn’t feel sick at all when I did pre launch testing, but that’s likely because I wasn’t spending a lot of time flying around to gather mats and dig treasure. For obvious reasons I didn’t want to grind too much of anything on a character that would inevitably get deleted.
normal flight months → kindergarten dragon garbage at any time! when it comes to collecting flowers / open world stuff etc. or going up a hill!!!
this dragon garbage benefits me a fencing fart. because as a taxi I prefer to use afk flying animals from the city. and then I can do something on the desktop…
We have proper flying now, it’s called Dragonriding.
We probably get the old slow air swimming flying too at some later patch, as we always have.
I do not matter what is “proper” or not. I only care about the version that does not make me feel to throw up.
Why would you normal fly when you can just dragonride? Normal flying does not remove dragonriding. Just do what you prefer.
