I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share an exciting idea that I believe has great potential for the future development of World of Warcraft.
Summary of My Idea:
My idea is to integrate Microsoft Copilot AI or any AI into World of Warcraft to enable real-time translation of in-game text into Hungarian or any other language. This would be a significant quality update that would greatly enhance the gaming experience for non-English speaking players.
Details:
Real-time Translation: With the help of Copilot AI or any AI, in-game texts, dialogues, and quests could be translated in real-time into various languages, allowing players to better understand the story and gameplay.
Practice Mode: AI could enable raids and dungeons to be played in a practice mode. The AI would assist in understanding the mechanics and what to focus on in specific areas, helping players to better prepare for challenges.
Community Features: AI could also assist in player communication, for example, by providing automatic translations in chat, making it easier for players of different languages to communicate with each other.
Learning Mode: AI could help players develop their characters and master game mechanics by providing tips during battles or suggesting equipment.
Personalized Experience: AI could offer personalized suggestions to players based on their gameplay, such as which quest to complete next or which raid to try.
I am very excited about this idea and hope you find it interesting as well. I would greatly appreciate your feedback and am open to any further questions or discussions.
Thank you for taking the time to read my message. I look forward to your response!
Did anyone else also think that this topic would be about the Enhancement spec?
On topic:
Anything that will require me to give additional rights (microphone, screen, camera, access to files on my hard drive etc.) to companies for AI or whatever other reason is a huge “No”.
If, on the other hand, all AI-stuff are done server-side and transmitted to my client in a non-profiling way, then go ahead.
I can imagine that AI will play a huge part of new games in the future, in fact I think it’s inevitable, but I can’t see how it could be added as broadly as that to an existing, long-standing game, because half the players would leave due to fears about AI.
Add-ons for translation, encounter mechanics, and combat log analysis should be a simpler topic though.
Ah yes let’s make players TikTok users AKA people that can’t look up things for themselves, that need an algorithm to tell them what to do and think else they have no curiosity about anything.
In the space of my lifetime we’ve gone from the Atari 2600 VCS and the ZX81, to the PS5 and vastly more powerful PC’s, and the rate of progress seems exponential. I can’t begin to imagine what my kids will be playing when they’re “aging gamers” like me. As for a 100 years, who knows, maybe completely immersive trekkie holodecks.
