Proposed Drum Changes

The Drum Changes that were recently found on the beta with the addition of the Greater Drum crafts is absolutely not the correct way to deal with the issue. Adding these drums to the game will in fact make the situation worse (something that should’ve been obvious if you spent more than 3 seconds thinking about it).

These solutions are a much better idea that you should consider instead:
-Add exhaustion/tinnitus as a 10m debuff when drums/bloodlust are used (the best solution)
-Make drums raid-wide rather than party-wide (Second best)
-Make the Drums/Bloodlust cooldown 10m long

Exhaustion/Tinnitus being added as a debuff is 100% the decision you should make. DO NOT under any circumstance add these greater drums, they are objectively bad.

Id like drums to still be useful outside of shamanless content. If drums were on a separate 10min cd to hero/BL so you could use 1 of each that would be a nice middle ground IMO. Shaman doesn’t get replaced and drums stays useful but not neasesary player to player.

But yeah th3 current change is just a gold sink promoting gold buying and bots…bad verrry bad

The drums on beta have not been tested, and we know absolutely nothing about them until someone manage to get honored with Sha’tar on the beta, which i dont know is even possible right now.

The beta have plenty of tooltip errors, the current drum tooltip is the exact same tooltip as the old one, so i can pretty much assure you that the tooltip will get changed, and if im to guess, its going to be a raidwide buff.

I am pro debuff THAT IS NOT SHARED WITH BLOODLUST, so at least LWers have some place in raids

It’s also not the way it will be implemented.

People do realise that beta != release, yes?

And btw. no one on beta tested the drums yet. You have to be honored with Shatar to get the recipes. No one is honored yet (and I’m not even sure if its possible with lvl being capped at 64).

So, care to tell me what changes are you are talking about excatly?

Bloodlust does not have a debuff.

I assume Blizz will change that to remove group swapping unless they disable it in UI.

Horde have swapped around shamans all of classic and bliz did nothing. Why should they?

Haven’t said they should, they could do that to break the meta.

I for one don’t give a damn about metas. The metas will be only used by small percentage of min maxing players, vast majority of players and raid groups wont care about meta, won’t have perfect composition etc and will still enjoy the game. But if we have to change something about drumms it better be a debuff that is not shared with any other spell of that type (bloodlust if blizz decides to change taht too). COuld phrase it this way from the start so there would be less confusion.

The totems are worth more then BL, so you will still stack shamans. Chaining BL in 1 or 2 groups won’t be a thing even for min/maxers, warlocks are threat capped and the overall dmg from all DPS groups getting BL to line up thier CDs are far better then chaining 1-2 grps.
You might pop a 2nd BL in the hunter group because they can reset threat, but that’s about it.

I REALLY hope it’s just a wrong/unfinished tooltip, and the “greater drums” will either not require LW to use and/or be raid-wide and/or share debuf with Bloodlust/Hero.
Because as it stands right now, Blizzard “fix” for drums is: let them still be manatory for 4/5 raiders, but require 375 LW instead of 350 and cost more mats and require more rep

Yeah, just like most people don’t follow the “worldbuff meta” in Classic that is much more toxic and game-changing than even this joke of drum “fix”

We have now received the blue post stating the intended design goal of these drums so I will re-iterate once more: Under no circumstance should these changes be allowed to go live. Put exhaustion as a debuff on drum/bloodlust use. Do not add these drum changes, it is better to do nothing than to do what you are doing right now.
