Proposed Vengeance Demon Hunter Changes

Implementing these changes should fix Vengeance Demon Hunter tanks in everything from raids to M+ (current 8.2/8.1.5 changes are in mind aswell).

Spirit Bomb (Current):
Consume up to 5 Soul Fragments within 25 yds and then explode, afflicting nearby enemies with Frailty for 20 sec and damaging them for (22.113% of Attack power) Fire per fragment.

You heal for 10% of all damage you deal to enemies with Frailty.

Spirit Bomb (New):
Consume up to 5 Soul Fragments within 25 yds and then explode, afflicting nearby enemies with Frailty for 20 sec and damaging them for (75% of Attack power) Fire per fragment.

You heal for 20% of all damage you deal to enemies with Frailty.

Gluttony (Old):
Consuming a Soul Fragment has a chance to activate Metamorphosis for 5 sec.

Gluttony (New):
Consuming a Soul Fragment has a chance to activate Metamorphosis for 7 sec.

Fel Devastation (Old):

Unleash the fel within you, damaging enemies directly in front of you for [(15.561% of Attack power) * (10)] Fire damage over 2 sec. Causing damage also heals you for up to [(40.95% of Attack power) * (10)] health.
1 Minute Cooldown

Fel Devastation (New):
Unleash the fel within you, damaging enemies directly in front of you for [(15.561% of Attack power) * (10)] Fire damage over 2 sec. Causing damage also heals you for up to 45% of Maximum Health.
Cooldown reduced to 40 Seconds

[Shattered Souls] (New):
Added: Consuming a Soul Fragment also reduces magical damage done to you by 1%, for 6 seconds, up to 15 times - Consuming additional Soul Fragments (beyond 15) does not extend the duration of the buff.

You went too far with Spirit Bomb damage, if it was 75% of attack power DH would have even more damage than prot warriors right now which are getting nerfed obviously.

The other changes are irrelevant and solve none of the spec issues which is mitigation uptime.

its not useful at 2k dmg pr fragment and 10% of thatbeing selfhealing, being 200 HP pr fragment times 3 = 600 HP. you see how this equals to nothing.

Well, yeah, if you’re pulling one-two mobs every time, you won’t see it do much. Pull five and suddenly the damage is 30k+, so you get 3k healing from there, plus other attacks for 20+ seconds. It’s not OHMYGOD self-healing, but also not at all negligible.

Do +20ish keys, pull 5 mobs each mobs hitting you for 15-20k*5. You got 450k Hp. Does 3k Healing every ~3 seconds do any difference?

Nah, but that’s more of an issue with mitigation. Even if the attack power component was higher as you said, it would still mean you take same large amounts of damage, just heal slightly more.

That would be fine, as DH is far squishier.

BRING BACK PAINBRINGER FOR VENGEANCE

Painbringer - Artifact Trait
Each Soul Fragment you consume reduces all damage you take by 5% for 4 sec.

Bring this passive artifact trait from Legion back and make it baseline for Vengeance, not a talent.

i think we need permanent metamorphose form and return heal of fire damage
