Prot in SS

Okay so i tried prot yesterday and in 2 days ive gotten to r1 cutoff im currently 4th. I didnt have any mmr from last season because ive never played prot before so i started at 1700 for some reason anyways but besides the point, why does prot have a r1 cutoff, dont get me wrong I do think it takes some skill if its not Prot paladin because thats pure rng fiesta on who uses cds better. Prot felt decent because at the mmr range for r1 theres a lot of melee lobbies but as soon as u get a magic dmg lobby ure kinda useless because none of ur utillity matters, ure basically just an arms / fury warrior without the extra dmg and good burst. Prot does okay dmg but its nothing close to pure dps specs, contrary to what people might think i do think prot can die but mostly if theres atleast 1 magical dmg ure facing with 2x u can 100% die quite easily because shield wall is on a long cooldown.

The biggest issues with atleast prot warrior in my experience seems to be other players, most of the players are unware of the utillity and even when i write every round to stay close because of bodyguard everyone run 20 yards just to lose the debuff so have to chase them to reapply it and if its the healer and he dies to pillar hump 30 yards away from the actual KT it becomes a major problem, so i dont think Prot warrior is easy only if ure really good at warrior in general and good at abusing worse players because its lower mmr and capatalising on misstakes, but theres a notable difference between 1.8-2k range and 2.2+ range players get a lot better and i wouldnt say its that different from 2.4+ tbh, people use their stuff really well, know how to kick, check dr and rarey miss using defensives.

overall i dont mind prot warrior as much as i mind prot paladin, prob just due to the fact of them being healers then turning the game into a clown fiesta, but i do think theres some skill to Vengeance, BDK and Prot warrior mainly down to how other people play around u, ure not only playing against another team but also other players.

I think they need to rework some honor talents or disable stuff for prot pala so they can once again just be labeled as a dps/tank instead of healers,

Even tho id like it disabled, i dont think it would be fair unless they disabled aug aswell, because its a tank disguised as a dps and does way better than any tank spec. Played into some augs while they were pretty bad, that mitigation and the amount of tools such as dispell etc u know its a tank/healer/dps spec.

I also think with the right talents on prot warrior its pretty reminicent of gladiator spec, i wish they added that back instead, it was fun, but they should obviously tune it differently, i dont mind tanks having good utillity and notebly less dmg which is what i feel prot warrior has today it just lacks overall good utillity, since intervene is basically my best utillity if its not pure physical dmg lobby ure just a worse arms/fury warrior.

My last point, i honestly think no good players should ever let a prot warrior win a lobby, my wins were good rng lobbies and down to a massive amount of misstakes on the other players, its very easy to abuse prot warriors if u know how to. Some players knew what to do, basically rooted me 20 yards away while my team kept running to the other side of the map and that basically made me entierly useless if healers dont know how to dispell which they rarely dont depending on mmr etc.

People are also very toxic when they see that ure prot, I can understand some tank specs, but prot warrior is literally a worse arms/fury warrior, there were so many games that i couldve just straight won easy rounds if i was fury/arms that could actually punish, obviously the dmg of prot just isnt good enough to punish even bad healers that get kicked every global. Idk if i qued into a prot warrior in the future i wouldnt even be mad because theyre just worse than the other 2 specs if u know what utillity they have, theyre not really a threat dmgwise, nothing hits harder than onslaught / mortal strike, the only button that can do decent dmg is execute but ure kinda rage starved all the time so ull prob get like 2 executes off before ure out of rage. Ive seen it do 100k max.

Prot is unplayable above 2.2 where casters starts appearing. That’s where most people get baited. They get 2.1 through pisslow full melee lobbys and let’s be honest 2k shuffle lobby is equivalent of 1500. After that it’s just a brickwall cannot win any caster rets dks any magic dam.

Just a noob stomper spec where you still insta lose to 1500 casters.

Maybe prot paladins are rng clown fiesta from viewpoint of dps, but definitely not if you play prot pala itself. Its most balanced bracket in wow, you never get stronger class to play against, only other prot pala. You will never get above 2100 as prot pala btw, because the skill gap between good and bad prots is huge and they will stomp you. It is in a way reality check, because theres nothing to blame when you lose but yourself, be it healers, bad dps, map favoring one side etc. All is even for both teams, which makes is a breath of fresh air for wow.

I mean in fine if they all get each other in there own prot realm like i wish if a prot quees arsna he gets matched w other prots only 3prots vs 3 prots

And all you did every game you queued was flame everybody including healers and spam mount / dismount your s1 glad mount whenever somebody replied to your flaming.

I had the unfortunate luck of having to heal 1 of those lobbies in the literal dead night-morning hours. Great experience with tanks, no doubt.

well prot war is good against all the physical zugs there but something is clearly not viable when theres just 16 on 2.1 and nothing beyond that

in past i had to heal some prot wars in shuffle and it was snooze, same as with the brewmasters really
