Prot Warriors. Not a fun experience

Tanking on a Warrior is by far the most painful experience I’ve had in SOD.

Threat generation…bad
Rage generation…bad
Holding aggro on multiple targets…frustrating
Thunderclap rune…useless. Not worth using the threat it generates is so small.
Endless rage in the same slot as devastate? Why.

Compare that to the Bear druid I’ve been playing lately.

Threat generation…great! really good aoe threat with swipe and berserk rune means I can apply lacerate to multiple mobs.
Rage…great! Primal fury generates extra rage whenever you crit and using swipe on multiple mobs means im critting alot so I’m never raged starved.
Holding aggro on multiple targets…great! Everything sticks to you.
Wildstrikes…amazing for other melee classes and yourself…if theres already a feral use SOTF for a 20 damage reduction to be more tanky.

The difference is night and day. I keep going back to try and level my warrior and the first dungeon I get to I realise why I stopped in the first place. It’s just not a fun experience.

They are too busy by buffing shamans and paladins for plebs.

Prot warrior

Work hard, do mediocre.

I can build aggro for 2 minutes and a paladin tank can snap aggro from me by accidentally doing aoe.

Best way to go is fury/dw tank bosses 1 to 4
Strap a shield for 5/6 and adjust runes accordingly

It does improve a little with gear, notably having at least a couple % hit as well as a dismantle enchanted +proc weapon (ideally the fist)

But yea, I feel you. I’ve tanked it as a war, pally and feral and you really do notice it.

If you are determined to make a go of war regardless of recent events places like fightclub are worth a browse… even if you aren’t interested in the interaction the important/new information is sticky’d

Its not though its just not brokenly good, if you are ally have the paladin actually buff salve on the dps if you are horde have the shaman give you alpha and it will smooth everything out.

Not at all, its about the level it should be at level 60 in raids.

That is true holding on more than 2 targets is frustrating to say the least but this far there dps should be able to handle pulling something off you rather well.

Thunderclap runes main use is that you actually can use it in dstance the other buff to clap is just a upside, clap is a debuff first and foremost.

So you cant generate to much rage as a tank, and its really not needed to have both, Deva is masive for threat and sunder is cheap.
