Weekly quests can be abandoned on logout, while some others can be repeated

Public Service Announcement:

This week’s PvP quest, ‘Sparks of War: Azj-Kahet’ does not persist between log-ins.

I confirmed this on three different characters: two Horde (level 71 - 72) and one Alliance (level 80). I lost 55 sparks of war on one character, which is pretty uncool. Bug report already sent.

(EDIT: this has not been fixed and is happening for a second week. Quest name updated accordingly).

TL;DR: make sure that you do this quest all in one go because if you log out you will lose all your progress.

I was at like 80/100 sparks then blizzard deleted it when I logged out. Now I picked it up and im at 0/100

Hey Forlorna,

Thank you for your thread!

I can confirm on our end that this bug has been reported to our developers, and that they’re investigated it. Doing the quest (without logging off of the game) should indeed work correctly in the meantime.

That’s just wonderful. Now there are no more world quests in ringing deeps and I get to stay in warmode.

Nice this is why i lost 50-60/100 progresses on multiple characters.

The quest disappears from the Quest Log after logging out of the game. It’s another week with this bug. I have the same problem on every character

This has not been fixed and is happening again this week for the quest ‘Sparks of War: Azj-Kahet

(I have also updated the original post to reflect this)

TL;DR: make sure that you do this quest all in one go because if you log out you will lose all your progress.

It’s been a week. Please fix your game.

This is still broken, but I guess since it concerns PvPers, Blizzard puts it on the lowest of priorities

It is crazy that when something is buggy to the player’s expense it can wait weeks but when there is a bug which is labelled as exploit and players profit off of it is quickly fixed and players are punished.

Why is the quest not auto complete just becuase why not? It should for being broken for 2 weeks.

Bugged for 2nd week

Also the weekly dungeon quest is not giving any rep for first complete.

This is true and so annoying. My game crashed and I lost all my progress

It’s very possible that I’m just being forgetful, but I’m fairly confident that I picked up the Sparks of War quest yesterday on my vulpera rogue - he was in the zone and in war-mode when I logged onto him today which is really the only reason I would be in that zone - but I looked in my log and the quest was missing.

I went to Ruffious, thinking maybe I’d handed it in already - but no, there it was, uncollected. Anyone else had this?

Just tested - it is removed from your quest log if you log out. Tested again, 100% replicatable.

Oh I very much was not the only person to discover this it seems! Hopefully it gets sorted soon :frowning:

I’ve progressed the Titan Disk weekly quest to the point where I needed to go inside the Archive and talk to the NPC to finish it.
There was an option to swatch some cutscene and I assumed that’s part of the quest so I activated it but the quest never progressed and I never got the option to complete it.
The quest marker was stuck between showing that I have to go outside and when I TP-d out it said I need to go back inside.

I’ve tried relogging since some people mentioned it on forums that some quests are fixed by that but instead the weekly quest disappeared completely and I can’t retake it, it’s been days and It was never resolved.
Most importantly I haven’t received my omen spark fragment and I’ve did pretty much every weekly quest, completed the raid raid and did a lot of m+ runs

Could you kindly take a look at it or forward it to the relevant place? Would be great to get this resolved since I assume a lot of others have this issue and the in-game Support system is so atrocious that you can’t even report a bug anymore in straightforward manner let alone open a ticket.

Not sure if there’s a catch up system or not but if there isn’t then the missing spark will set back every player with this issue 1 more week before they can craft.

Not just this one but the same thing happened to me with the Titan Disk weekly quest, the dialogue option to complete the quest never showed up so I relogged to see if it fixes the issue instead it disappeared, never got the reward (missing spark fragment so - 1 week), can’t accept the quest again.

It’s been a couple of days since reset but I still haven’t received my spark fragment from any activity and the quest never came back in my quest log.

Did you fix this? Exactly the same thing has just happened to me.

Same with the weekly pvp quest … cmon fix this, now!

Nope, sadly nothing happened. I’ve been spamming M+ dungeons and as mentioned cleared HC raid completely on top of doing every weekly activity on each zones including some of the purple cache spawning ones that you get once you clear 3 world quests.

Never got my fragment, I used a script from wowhead to check how many fractured omen fragments I collected and it sits on 7/8 so one is missing and I’m really hoping next week it drops 2.

I’ve already delayed my weapon craft by 2 weeks because I made a mistake in the beginning of the game (mistake being not watching 8 guides to know everything that comes months ahead of time in progression then Blizzard punishing you for it) but now the game itself being bugged out is another week so I’m almost a month behind everyone else in terms of weapon craft it’s just so disappointing lol

This should be fixed with the 20th Anniversary Celebration Update launching this week.

Do let us know if you experience it again after the weekly maintenance.

Hi!

Thank you for the information.

I assume that we will be able to catch up on the fractured fragment we didn’t get this week, right?
