PTR Spoiler/Discussion Thread (Part 1)

Exactly. The lore wasn’t intrusive and you truly had the freedom to join in on the Iron Horde bashing or not at all. You could even find it in yourself to forgive it because it’s not that the content was bad, but it was cut… Cuts everywhere, it was the No Man’s Sky of Wow with Todd Howard overselling it.

But how can you consistently fail this bad… Let’s put the tragedy that unfolded for a brief second and just look at how they simply jumped into this rabbit hole. It’s not just sheer arrogance at this point, this is just hitting on the pedal at maximum speed heading into a canyon. Jesus Christ, everyone keeps telling them what they want from the game and warning about their systems/ideas that simply don’t work in the game… They never listen or the people bringing forth that are ignored.

By the end of WoD they began chasing the almighty metric of MAU while also hiding their own sub numbers, thinking “Ah they’ll come back every time.” about your players and hoping that good will was like an infinite ressource.

it’s still so funny how they overhyped warlords so much with their marketing only for it to be almost immediately canned anyway

Or, being a shivering ill bred wreck of a species subject to random mutation from the slightest breeze of ambient magic, turning into yet another (insert magic here) elf.

The weirdest thing about Elune not knowing about everything going to the Maw is the fact that her clergy in the form of the Sisterhood of Elune is and has been decidedly aware that something’s amiss with the spirit world since the Fourth War

Edit: I posted in the wrong thread.

me = drinking dumb juice

Oh please, don’t be silly. It was an entire expansion ago! Who keeps track of such things.

this is from the pre-SL book which I guess makes it even funnier that they don’t manage to be consistent with their own material from within the last year or so

You think they read them or what lol

touche, reading is probably delegated to underpaid overworked interns who then aren’t listened to in the slightest or something

Honestly you think keeping track of what you’re writing and managing basic continuity would be a staple for a video game " " “writer” " ".

i mean there’s literally wowpedia lol

You’d think they’d have their own catalogue/database to be quite honest. Alas. I expect too much for a company that doesn’t really do much work unless it involves booze or touching up colleagues. :weary: :pray:

You expect the writers guys playing with action figures to remember the details of what happened last expansion?

I can now say without hesitation that many roleplayers know the lore better than the people paid to know it.
