Honestly still a bit baffled why they’re chucking out these generic armours which only really look in place on humans to every racial starting area tbh. It can’t be hard to like grab the old low-res stuff and just upgrade it over making something from scratch, surely?

What Blizzard says and what Blizzard actually does has been historically proven to be very, very different.
Even this entire situation of 9.1.5 front loaded with QoL changes as well as customization options is now tainted by their dishonesty. Not a single developer and spokesperson went ahead and admitted that they are adding all this crap because they have lost so many subscribers.
We have these subhuman statements of the expansion’s lore/narrative allowing the removal of system limitations. Players have been demanding this since alpha/beta.
They say they are removing “toxic” references and in-game interactions for the game to be more inclusive when this is just virtue signalling to appease idiots.
They say they are adding Allied Race customisations, the exact opposite of what their statement was back during Blizzcon, because of player demand when realistically the people who have been demanding more customization aren’t even playing the game because so many have gone to greener pastures while those still subbed and actively playing aren’t likely to be swayed anyway by making Void Elves get a plethora of non-Void Elf hairdos and two barely played races getting some more options (whilst the other AA races are left in the dirt with barely any options in comparison.)
This entire effort to appease the playerbase is coated with dishonesty from Blizzard’s end and they don’t seem to be under pressure any more because 95% of the internet forgot about the lawsuit and the journey we’ve been on since Legion all the way to current state Shadowlands.
But hey, at least the High Elf LARPers will simmer down as 2 of their 890 wishes for their dressup doll simulator experience will be fulfilled.

I’ve checked the vendor in Old Hillsbrad instance on the PTR. The vendor is still there, selling old starter gear.
I wanted to check the weather effects in Stormwind and Orgrimmar too but it is at night on the PTR right now. I’ll try it earlier / later. It would be awesome to have weather effects at night too though. Imagine heavy rain at night!
Starting gear is white but not soulbound at least. With any luck, if we want to have a piece then we can roll an alt and mail it to our mains once we hit Stormwind. It is such a hassle though as there is no mailbox on Exile’s Reach (probably for a very good reason, see below).
When an account has no characters at all then the only levelling option seems to be Exile’s Reach. I suppose it is to hinder gold sellers and starter accounts to interact with the rest of the world and spam people without putting in the effort of levelling a character first to level 10. Also, it probably gives a better levelling experience for new players with all those tutorials.
Void elf jet black and brown hair colours have not been added to the PTR just yet. Blonde and red hair colours are available already with tentacle options on and off.
It’s on live already.
Danuser called these changes “treats that come from a place of love for the game” or something iirc.

THE most tone deaf dev I’ve seen; no communication, no connection with the players, no answers for the (usually pretty consistent) community feedback on things being Very Not Good…

I’d make a joke about Ortellus and Danuser being one and the same, but I won’t; you don’t deserve THAT much slander.
I don’t really envy to CDEVs to some degree, due to the marketing of the game the fanbase is vitriolic and incredibly tribalistic about their niche. Sean Copeland was pretty much harassed out of his job.
Though with that said, Blizzard dropping the numerous short-stories which were available for free on the website was a mistake IMO. As was them stopping the CDEV watercoolers, I didn’t always agree with what questions were asked, but it was something.

Human and blood elf chargers both still need a severe touch-up, but I guess the tauren and draenei mounts from Cata hold up.
